not seem possible. On my poetry blog. my poem

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Winter storms come into all our lives, even when it's
not winter. If you haven't experienced one, you will.
Sometimes our personal winters cause us to abandon
or turn our backs on God.
When we suffer pain of divorce, job loss, miscarriage or
any number of things that come our way in life's journey.
There are times we don't feel like hanging on, it simply
seems too hard. In John, Jesus tells us he is the vine, we
are the branches. If we stay connected to the vine, we can

Wouldn't it be nice to shop at a department store

and search for it as a hidden treasure, then you will
understand the fear of the Lord and find knowledge
of God." We need to work on obtaining these qualities.

Today's thought reminds me of a story I received on the
enternet. A teacher asked her class to write something nice
about each classmate. She complied them and gave a copy to
each student. Years later, at the funeral of one of the former
students, his parents showed her their son's copy. He was killed
in Vietnam and the copy was found on him. Several of his class
mates attended the funeral. They all confessed that they too
kept their copy!
We never know how far our influence can reach?

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Meg prayed one continual prayer as she and her
missionary partner waited for hours for a bus. The
over crowded bus smelled, the sun set and suddenly
fear gripped her. What were two young, white women
doing in the middle of Africa, at night, going to meet
strangers in a strange town?
The grease and dirt, she smelled reminded her of how
her dad's hands smelled, after work. A women walked by
and she smelled a whiff of lilac perfume, her mother's
favorite... then she knew with clarity, the same God that
watched over her parents in Nebraska, watched over her
in Africa. Fear left and a simple trust took over.

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to
the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls 1 Peter 2:25

Do you feel overwhelmed by the things happening in your life?

Joy is Free:
I was driving down the road listing to some sweet music,
my heart felt peaceful... then the news came on. Another
millionaire celebrity in drug rehab, a murder and on it goes.
Hearing all that made me think of a documentary on Mother
Teresa's home for the dying, in Calcutta, even through the
suffering the people were going through... it was peaceful
and the patients were smiling. Kindness and happiness were
shared with each other and the Sisters. They seemed to know the
simple truth, that so many of us are still learning, "Joy is Free!"

So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and
you will rejoice and no one will take away your joy. John 16:22

So many pay such a large price for the things they hope will bring them
joy, however joy is not in things... we must choose to be joyful!
