THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Mercy is when the Lord withholds punishment for acts 

against His will. Grace is God's favor and power to do

His will. David received God's mercy and then received

His grace to live a life pleasing to Him. The Lord took

the very stuff in David's life that required His mercy to

mold it into something that would glorify His name by

His grace. (Connie Peters)

Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help.

We all require God's mercy and grace, but we have to ask God 

for it  and we need to extend our mercy and grace to others as 

well!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

God's size doesn't change, but our perception of him

does. As  he draws nearer he seems larger, Isn't that

what we need? A big view of God? Don't we have big

problems, big worries and big questions? Of course 

we do. Hence we need a big view of God.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

It is to the United States that all free men look for the

light and hope of the world. Unless we dedicate ourselves

completely to this struggle, unless we combat hunger with

food, fear with trust, suspicion with faith,  fraud with justice 

and threats with power, nations will surrender to the futility 

and panic, on which wars are fed. (General Omar Bradley)

SCRIPTURE:

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

1 Corinthians 7:23

Freedom is not free! It was bought at a price. Did you ever read what

happened to the men who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Think of the many women and men that have died since to keep this

country free. Salvation is not free either. It was bought at a price. 

The blood of Jesus!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

This power (prayer) does not work just as dynamite 

to bring one explosive experience in your life. It is a

continual power. (John Osteen)

SCRIPTURE:

I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with

the shadow of my hand. Isaiah 51:16

The idea here, is that God does not give us one explosive,

fast answer and forgets us. It is a continuing cover of love

and forgiveness!
