Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you don't like the way life looks, change the way
you look at life. (Reminisce Magazine)

SCRIPTURE:
The word of God penetrates even dividing soul and
spirit, joint and marrows. It judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Today, can be whatever your attitude dictates!

August 30

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Niagara Falls. The Grand Canyon. Whether you're near
the edge of the falls, enveloped each minute by spray of
six million cubic feet of cascading water or standing on
the rim of the canyon overcome with dizzying awe, as
you peer into a seemingly bottomless gorge...both are
akin to the, "The fear of the Lord." A.W.Tozer called it,
"Astonished Reverence." The development of wisdom
and knowledge starts with a loving reverence for the
Lord. (Adam Colwell)

SCRIPTURE:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10

In every story in the Bible, where men and women have
come into the awesome presences of God, they have fallen
on their knees in reverence. Perhaps, we need to be reminded
now and again of the awesome presence of God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
All that is asked of us by our creator is that we love him and
each other. Where love doesn't flow easy, perhaps we can
just decide not to hurt someone. If we each avoid hurting
all people for just one day, lives would be transformed.
we'd each see the world with a fresh perspective.
(Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
Anyone who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 1 John 4:20

I like the idea of just not hurting another. Love is a gradual
thing. You must get to know others to love them. You must
get to know God to love him as well!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
You may wonder sometimes if your life is no longer a
bright promise. You may lie awake in the hours of the
night reliving your regrets. God is the great promise
keeper. He is already aware of every poor choice, every
lost opportunity, and every wasted moment, he knows
and your mistakes grieve him. He takes you as you are
and restores hope to your life.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Your promise revives me; it comforts me in my troubles.
Psalm 119:50 (NLT)

We may brake our promises from time to time, but God
never brakes his promises!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Constant kindness can accomplish much. As sun melts
ice, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust and
hostility to evaporate. (Albert Schweitzer)

SCRIPTURE:
An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word
cheers him up. Proverbs 12:25

Kindness is contagious...pass it on!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Acceptance of conditions that at times plague us changes
not only the conditions, but in the process, ourselves. We
change into  more accepting people, life's struggles ease.
We accept all circumstances we can't control, we are more
peaceful, smile more, It almost seems life's eternal lesson
is acceptance. (Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
I have learned the secret of being content in any and all
circumstances.  Philippians 4:12

Life continually changes, if we fight those changes every step
of the way, we wear ourselves out, physically, emotionally,
and spiritually!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 25

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God loves all children and wants you to be united with him.
As a believer you have a responsibility to be a blessing, not only
to those who are living Godly lives, but also to those who are not.
You are a mirror of God's love in the world! You reflect and pass
along the goodness and mercy shown you. You practice this
commandment most notably when you reach out to people
who do not know that God loves them.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Good and upright is the Lord. Therefore He teaches
sinners the way, Psalm 25:8 (NKJV)

It is very hard for us to hate the sin and not the sinner, but
God can help us do it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Worry...makes you forget who's in charge.
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 (NCV)

I don't have any trouble laying my worries at the feet
of Jesus; I do have trouble leaving them there!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 23

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A blazing fire is glorious, but when spent, nothing remains
but gray ashes. A somber contrast to the colorful flames
that danced so high in the air, filling the room with warmth.
At times, you may feel that your life is reduced to ashes, that
your strength is gone and the flames you once carried inside
is cold and colorless. God promises that even at your lowest
point, he is there to rekindle the flame within you.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God.
Psalm 143:5 (NLT)

Hope is like a spark in the ashes of yesterday's fire. Sometimes
the ashes look so dead, but add a little kindling (God's word)
and blow on the ashes (a little prayer) and a spark will come to
life!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
To find in ourselves what makes life worth living is risky
business; for it means that once we know, we must seek it.
It also means that without it life is valueless.
(Marsha Sinetar)

SCRIPTURE:
(Paul speaking) 'For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
Philippians 1:21

I believe Paul found the answer to today's thought!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Procrastination plagues us all. But any activity that is worthy
of our effort should be tackled by bits and pieces, one day at
a time. We easily get overwhelmed when we sit our sights
on the accomplished goal. We need to focus, instead, on one
element at a time. A book is written, word by word, a house
built, nail by nail, a college degree is attained, course by
 course. (Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it, but one
thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what
is ahead I press on toward the goal. Philippians 3:13-14

Shall we pick up one of those unfinished projects and plod on?
Remember: Things are not as important as relationships.
Do not procrastinate, make that call-visit-give a hug or a smile
today!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Become a possibilitarion.  No matter how dark things
seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see
possibilities...always see them, for they're always
there. (Norman Vincent Peal)

SCRIPTURE:
Jesus said, "Everything is possible for him who believes."
Mark 9:23

So, I invite you to join the 'possibility club' and see the cans
instead of the cant's!

August 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Journaling your worries to God is an effective discipline for
reducing stress. In a way, it is like writing God a letter and
asking him to take care of things. When you commit them
to God they lose their power over you.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you
do it, and he will. Psalm 37:5 (TLB)

Start your love letter to God today!

August 18

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
You always walk beside me, Lord.
You dry my every tear.
You light the path before me.
You chase away my fears.

Each day is a precious gift
Oh, may I live each day,
So full of joy and purpose,
As you guide me on life's way.

SCRIPTURE:
May God be gracious to us and bless us and
make his face to shine upon us. Psalm 67:1

I hope you bask in the sunshine of his love today!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 17

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Every parting gives us a foretaste of death, every reunion
gives us a foretaste of the resurrection. (Arthur Schopenhauer)

SCRIPTURE:
Now we see a poor reflection in the mirror; then we shall see face
to face. Now I know in part; then  I shall know fully, even as I am
known. 1 Corinthian 13:12

SCRIPTURE:
I remember as a child when we traveled by car to see my grandparents,
as we drew closer to familiar sights,  I grew more excited at the anticipation
of the reunion. The day we had to leave, my grandparents would suddenly
be absent. They could never say good-bye. I think my experience substantiates
the above thought. God gives us hints and rehearsals of the death and the
resurrection!

August 16

Greetings: God  bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus said, "The greatest among you will be your servant."
The exercise of God's wisdom, therefore, calls for the total
opposite of a life of pride. That's the mark of humility. And
His promise is that wisdom will remove all that's "you" and
put in its place everything of the Lord. (Harriet Al-Najjar)

SCRIPTURE:
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility
comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2

I think sometimes, I tend to play musical chairs with God. When
the music is playing and things are going right, He sits on the chair
of my life, When the music stops and things get tough, I want to hop
in that chair!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
In his mercy, God transforms you, if you let him. He exchanges
your impatience for grace and your anger for compassion. After
his work is complete in you, you emerge as someone better than
you were before. With God's love and grace inside you, you, like
him, become slow to anger and quick to love.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God.)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion, slow to anger and
of great mercy. Psalm 145:8

Even though he may be disappointed in me, his mercy is extended
to me, even when I fail the test!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings:God bless you this day!!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Developed by the US Department of Defense and managed
by the US Air force 50th Space Wing. The Global Positioning
System (GPS) uses 24-34 earth orbit satellites that radio-wave
signals which allow receivers to determine their current location.
Perhaps you use this system in your car to provide maps and vocal
instructions so you can locate your destination. Open your life to
the Lord's direction. Call it your own personal GPS.
God's Protection System. (Harriet Al-Najjar

SCRIPTURE:
Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?
Proverbs 8:1

I'm so glad that a test in mechanical and technical abilities is not required
to get into heaven! Since I have none of those abilities I'm more than happy
to follow God's GPS!

August 13

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A coincidence is when God chooses to remain
anonymous. (Touched by an Angel)

SCRIPTURE:
My tears have been food day and night, while men
say, "Where is your your God?"

God prepares beautiful sunsets-safe travel-a family
who loves us-a job to keep us and friends to support
us, and yet, sometimes we think or say. "Where are
you God?"

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 12

Greetings: God bless you this this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We can't control the way our family responds to us. When
it comes to behavior of others towards us, our hands are
tied. We have to move beyond the naive expectations that
if we do good, people will treat us right. The fact is they may
not-we cannot control how people respond to us. Let God
give you what your family doesn't. If your earthly father
doesn't affirm you, then let your heavenly Father take his
place. (Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NCV)

If friends and family let you down, don't be too harsh in your
judgement. We're all human and all of us have let someone
down sometime!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 11

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Lighthouses not only stand against the elements and offer
a stark beauty to a seascape, but their whole purpose is to
save lives. They guide ships to safety by throwing light out
into the night, beckoning the Captains to shore. In a similar
way, you might easily stray into dangerous waters if not for
God's light thrown on your path.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
You are the light of the world. Matthew 5:14

Do you ever think of yourself as a lighthouse to others?
You have the power within to guide, shape and direct the
path of another. Someone is following in your footsteps.
Where will they lead?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Moses had a staff.
David had a sling.
Samson had a jaw bone.
Rehab had a string.
Mary had some ointment.
Dorcas had a needle.
All were used by God.
What do you have?
God inhabits a tiny seed, empowers the tiny seed.
Don't discount the smallness of your deeds.
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
Do not despise...small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices
to see the work begin. Zechariah 4:10 (NLT)

If the scripture records a drink of cold water in the name
of Jesus, as being significant, our deeds big or small will
be remembered...as long as we're not trying to toot our
own horn!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 9

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A Sunday school teacher illustrated, on a chalk board,
Jesus calming the storm on the sea, She erased her
illustration and asked the class why do you think the
storm went away and the sea became calm? One little
boy's explanation..."Because you erased it!" God's
presence in your life erases the storms brought on
by others and yourself.)
Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Turn, O Lord, and deliver me, save me because of your
unfailing love. Psalm 6:4

Remember: God's eraser is bigger than your mistakes!

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The God who spoke...still speaks. The God who came
still comes. He comes into my world. He comes into
your world. He comes to do what we can't
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and he saves
those whose spirits have been crushed. Psalm 34:18

Where is God when you need him? He's where he always
was-is and will be. He is ready to heal-comfort and lift
up those whose footsteps falter!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have you ever seen a trout swimming upstream? They've
been known to rest from the plummeting effects of the
current by hiding behind a rock. Once refreshed, they
move back into the flow. If you feel weary of 'well doing,'
perhaps it's time to draw near God, the Rock, and allow
the current to flow past, while you rest . You honor God
when you care for your spiritual life by taking refuge in
Him. (Meagan Gillan)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my
God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. Psalm 18:2

I've been told that when I was small and in trouble with my
mother, I would run and get behind my grandpa's chair. He
was usually reading and had no clue to what had taken place.
But he would defend me, by holding out his arms, so my mother
could not reach me. God is like that with you and me. The next
you find yourself rowing upstream, step behind the Rock and
rest in Him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 6

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Though you may not always be aware of it, God pours
his grace on on your life day after day and year after
year. His grace marks your steps and directs your course.
Because of his goodness you can never escape his notice,
not even if you try. God cares for you and is always there
for you. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
I love the Lord for he heard my voice; he heard my cry
for mercy. psalm 116:1

Notice: The above thought, says, because of his goodness, not
because I'm good...that's GRACE!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 5

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The need to love is universal. Each of us longs for the
affirmation that assures us that we are needed, appreciated,
and desired. We are strengthened by the strokes others
gives us, when no strokes are forthcoming, we sometimes
falter. (Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
Love: always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:7

Love is like a boomerang, throw it out to others and it will
come back to you!

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
I can stand what I know. It's what I don't know that
frightens me. (Frances Newton)

SCRIPTURE:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
Psalm 23:4

I suppose the reason we're afraid of death is that it is the
"unknown." I heard a preacher recently comment on the
above scripture. "Where there is a shadow, there must be
light. If death is but a shadow, the light must be God and
he will be there with you. "

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do you remember your simplest fears as a child? Did you
shudder when a spider crawled across the ceiling? Or did
mighty claps of thunder send you scurrying under cover?
In September 11, 2001 Americans faced circumstances
beyond their own resources and turned to God with the
same helplessness as a child in a raging storm. God
promises his presence in fright and joy alike.
(Megan Gillian)

SCRIPTURE:
Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses, but we
put our trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7

I read a story of a little boy who called out to his mom, that he
was afraid. She called back : Don't be afraid, God will take care
of you." His answer, "But I want someone with skin on!" We
all need someone with skin on, that's why God gives us each
other!

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There's limited availability...so don't hang around: Book
early. So says the online location for buying tickets to visit
Buckingham Palace. The admission only allows you into
the State Rooms. The Queen will be someplace else. Isn't
it wonderful that the availability to the very Throne Room
of God is not limited? Isn't it good to know you don't have
to book early? You can check in any time. (Peggy Gustave)

SCRIPTURE:
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand days elsewhere.
Psalm 84:10

Check in today. Visit the Throne Room. No reservations necessary!

August 1

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Never look back on the past with regret
For days that might have been,
Nor the promises made that were never kept
And the goals you did not win.

For everything there is a season,
A time to reap and sow,
A time to laugh and a time to cry
And a time for us to grow.
(Jean V. Russell)

SCRIPTURE:
There is a time for everything, and a season for every
activity under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

As we begin a new month, let go of things past. Begin
this new month with a fresh out-look. Count each day
a blessing and make each day count!
