Oswald Chambers states, "We have to pray with our

eyes on God, not our difficulties." What are your

prayers concentrated on? Is the emphasis on the

background or the main subject? In all things, keep

a vertical focus with God as center point.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant

Today's thought, caught me off guard... I'm not sure God

is the focus of my prayers. I ask for many things for many

people, but perhaps the focus is on what he can do for me

and not what can I do for him! How about you?

Over time, we learn to appreciate the gift of God's

friendship. It becomes our salvation, not only at the

end of life, but here today! He is our guide, teacher,

comforter, wonderful counselor and strength.

Since I'm going to make some Christmas cut-out

cookies this morning and I always cut out a few heart

shaped ones, I thought today's thought appropriate.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When you think of a heart shape today, think about

what it means to honor God with a sincere heart.

As you prepare for your gift-giving this Christmas season, think

When you feel strong and powerful, remember God is

your source of strength. You will be better off in your

Christmas preparations and accomplishing your goals

when remember that.

As you become so involved in Christmas preparations and

activities, try to remember, if you're really stressed, perhaps

you should back up and pare down some. I'm preaching to me as

well. I went into the doctor Tuesday, because I was feeling lousy

and my blood pressure was 202 over 90. He doubled my medicine

and added one and Thursday it was down 150 over 80, so I'm trying

to take my own advice!

Perspective matters. If we continually see things from

man's perspective, we will be discouraged and disappointed

with the Lord. If we choose to get into the Word and see life

from His perspective, we find peace and joy.

Testing is not something we look forward to, but it is

something that strengthens our daily walk with God.

We can feel all alone in our pursuit of getting Christmas

"done." We feel anxious about our to-do-list. Are we

leaving room for God to direct us? What does he want

for us this Christmas season?
