Scripture
Yet will I rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Habakkuk 3:18

Habakkuk, proves that there is aways, always, something to be thankful
for. He was a minor prophet in the time of Jeremiah and like Jeremiah,
he prophesied the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon.  Not much to look forward
to, but 70 years under Babylon rule, yet he rejoiced in the Lord. Not
many of us find ourselves in such unpleasant circumstances!

SURROUNDED BY GOD
Lord, when we face tough days, surround our souls
with your love. (Our Daily Bread)

Scripture:
As The mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lrod surrounds
His people both now and forevermore.
Psalm 125:2

What a comforting analogy, God surrounds us, that means
We are safe from the dangers that are around us, if not in
body, certainly in our soul!

STEADY STEPS:
Contrary to our physical experience, our spiritual steps should
become more and more steady as we grow older.
God's Word strengthens us to step steadily onward and upward.

If you're like me and in you twilight years, don't fret about the slow
physical steps, concentrate on your spiritual steps by reading God's
Word and going to God in prayer.

THE BLESSING IS COMING

One of the hardest lessons in our Christian walk, is to keep hopeful
when things seem hopeless. God is always working in the background
of our lives, He may sometimes seem silent, but He's never still, He is
doing things for us...visible and invisible.

Be patient God isn't finished with us yet.

Scripture:
"They did not listen to him because of their discouragement
and harsh labor. " Exodus 6:9

This Scripture of course is talking about the Israelites in
Egypt. Sometimes we are like they were. Discouragement
keeps us from hearing God's voice, but gratitude will help
us hear Him...remember He's still working on you!

IT COSTS GOD
God chose to send Jesus to this earth as His Son. Jesus was
the only One capable of living a human life without blemish,
thus satisfying God's requirements of the law regarding payment
for human sin which began with Adam and Eve.

At the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

She choose the song: "He paid a debt He did not owe"
The rest of that refrain is: "I owed a debt I could not pay,
I need someone to wash my sins away."
And that is what Jesus did.
