September 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
To give your best... and be your best... for God,
you must make learning a lifelong process. The
wisdom and understanding that is most important
is found in the Word of God. Has your dedication
to the Scripture faded? Today, perhaps more than
ever before faithful students and teachers are needed
in America. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget and do not turn
away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5

The fountain of youth is found in learning. Those who
learn something new each day... will never grow old!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not
overcome it. This is wonderful news. Nothing can extinguish
the One true light. Not atheism, a godless media, the scientific
community or all the antichrist through history. The darkness
that descended on the cross that crucifixion afternoon could not
put out the light of eternal life.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not
understood it. John 1:5

And NOTHING will put out the light!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

On my poetry blog, today's poem is on the
subject of praise. Taken from Psalm 9
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Let us call to remember: Acknowledge what God has
done and give Him glory. There is power in praise that
overcomes pride by prioritizing His greatness and inviting
His presence. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I will praise you O Lord, with all my heart. Psalm 9:1

Let praise remove doubt and fear!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes our attention must be captured by God
using drastic actions. I heard the Lord telling me to
slow down, but it took physical changes in my life
before I began to listen. God wants more of us. He
wants to be with us and He wants our undivided
attention when we are with Him. Take time today
to stop and be still before the Lord.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10

Today, be still and let God lead you, instead of hurrying
ahead and leading your own way!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Corrie Ten Boom, was a holocaust surviver arrested
for coming to the aid of the Jews, being captured by
the Germans. Her cell was infested by fleas with fleas
so numerous she could hardly bear it. Her sister, Betsie
reminded her to be thankful for everything, even fleas.
Later she discovered that the guards would not cone near
the cell because of the fleas. In her adversity, God was
protecting her. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be thankful in all things and God's peace and protection
will abound. Philippians 4:6-7

It takes a lot of faith to be thankful for fleas. Coorie,
wrote in her book that they could freely read their Bible,
because of the fleas that kept the guards away!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings Freda

September 25

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Even if our earthly families are not the most stable
and strong. We can be encouraged to know our
heavenly family is one in the Lord. It will not matter
when we get to heaven who did what to whom or how
much pain was involved. Our heavenly Father will take
care of us and home will be with Him. I love and appreciate
my family very much, but I take comfort in knowing I have
the greatest family in the body of Christ.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and
earth is named. Ephesians : 14-15

If you do not belong to a Christian body of believers, a
church family, I urge you to become a part of the body
of Christ. What a great blessing this is!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
"Surely this was a righteous man?" This statement
in Luke 23:47 says a lot doesn't it? It says the rubber
of faith meets the road of reality under hardship. It
says the trueness of one's belief is revealed in pain.
Genuineness and character are unveiled in misfortune.
Faith is not best in a three-piece Sunday suit, but at
the hospital beside, cancer wards and cemeteries.
Anyone can preach a sermon on a mount surrounded
by daises. But only one with a gut full of faith can live
a sermon on a mountain of pain! (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Surely this was a righteous man.
Luke 23:47

AMEN! Is all I can add to today's thought.

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus is our perfect example of friendship.
He laid down His life just for us, because
He is our true friend. Today, we can take
comfort in knowing that no matter what
happens, Jesus is always with us. Do you
have a friend or companion who is there
for you? Regardless of how alone we may
feel, we need to take heart in knowing Jesus
is our friend. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Greater love has no man than this, that he
lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

And that is just what Jesus did!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God answers sharp and sudden
on some prayers.
And thrust the thing we have
prayed for in our face.
A gauntlet with a gift in it.
(Elizabeth Rockwood)

SCRIPTURE:
Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.
John 16:24

I do believe today's thought. Often when I've prayed for
God to use me, he has put me in some situation that was
way out of my comfort zone. I've always received a blessing
for having done so!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
How long has it been since you experienced the
unparalleled joy of your personal relationship
with Christ? Even if He seems far away, be assured
that your journey back need not be lengthy. You
need only to open the door of your heart, and He
will be with you. (Author Unknown)

SCRIPTURE:
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
Revelation 3:20

He is always on call and His door is never closed!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 20

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Instead of begging God for what you do not have,
start thanking Him for what you do have. Instead
of feeling badly about what you're missing on earth,
start asking Him to give you a heart to have many
things in heaven. We are passing through here, but
heaven is for eternity. God knows what is best to
keep you balanced. Start praising God. Start praying
to please Him. Try and seek His face instead of His
hand. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
In the day of my favor I heard you, and in the day of
salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of
God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2

Today's thought can't be repeated enough. Start today
asking God to teach you how to please him, instead of
asking him to please you. I need to do this too!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you in a battle today over things in your mind?
There are two things you must incorporate into your
daily routine. First open the Bible and read a verse,
Psalm, Proverbs or the TN. Whatever works for you.
Second, ask God to put His Word into your mind
throughout the day. Let the Lord fight for you by
letting Him have control over your mind, instead of
trying to handle it yourself.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The weapons we fight with are not weapons of this world,
on the contrary, they have divine power. 2 Corinthians 10:4

We need to let God go to battle for us he has a divine arsenal,
that we do not have without him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 18

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Real courage embraces twin realities of current
difficulties and ultimate triumph. Yes, life stinks.
But not forever. As one of my friends likes to say.
"Everything will work out in the end. If it's not
working out it's not the end." (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
There will be wars and rumors of wars, but see to it
that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but
the end is still to come. Matthew 24:6

And another way of saying today's quote, "This too shall
pass."

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 17

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A hero is a man who does what he can.
( Romain Rolland-Heartwarmers)

SCRIPTURE:
It your enemy, is hungry feed him feed him; if he is
thirsty give him something to drink. In doing this you
will heap coals on his head. Romans 12:20

It takes a hero to follow the above Scripture!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 16

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the
enemy of growth. (The Pocket Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Romans 12:2

To conform to something, just because it's always been
done that way, is not wise, but to make make changes
just for change sake is also unwise!

September 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The more you listen to the voice within you, the
better you will hear what is sounding outside.
(Reminisce Magazine)

SCRIPTURE:
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

We sometimes have have to stop and listen...
to know that God is speaking to us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 14

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The enemy wants you to feel so condemned and depressed
that you quit or are too demoralized to minister effectively
and powerfully. Jesus came to give us life to the fullest. He
wants us to share in His joy. It is not for us to dwell on our
unworthiness, but to praise Him for His willingness to save
us. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Psalm 150:6

If you're going through a bad patch... ill health, family problems,
financial problems... do not listen to the voice of the enemy. Know
that God is still there and this too shall pass!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 13

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A Jew in Cologne Germany, during Hitler's reign of terror,
wrote from a cell. "I believe in the sun, even when it is
not shining. I believe in love, even when I do not feel it
and I believe in God, even when there is silence."
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
How long O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long
will you hide your face from me? Psalm 13:1

Ever felt as though God is hiding his face from you? What faith
it takes to be in the situation as the man in today's thought, and
still believe God is present. He is you know... even when there
is silence!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 12

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We need to get into the habit of asking God for wisdom,
knowledge and understanding. The NT writer, James
instructs us to ask for wisdom. God who gives to us all
liberally and without reproach, will give to those who
ask, regardless of our shortcomings and faults. There
will be tangible fruit in your life as you begin to under-
stand things from a different perspective.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives
generously to all without fault, and it will be given to him
James 1:5

We can NEVER ask too many times for wisdom!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day
As America pauses to remember the
tragedy that took place ten yeas ago
be sure to fly your flag in remembrance.
Today's poem:"September The Eleventh."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A government big enough to give you everything you want
is strong enough to take everything you have.
(Thomas Jefferson-From Dorris Tune)

SCRIPTURE:
You will call upon me and pray and I will listen to you.
Jeremiah 29:12

Be in prayer today, for the future of our country and the
safety of it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As a Christian, you represent Christ, wherever you go
and whatever you do. What does that look like in real
life? Maybe forgiving someone that hurt you. Maybe
giving up something you want to bless someone else.
The root of sacrifice and unselfishness goes back to
love. It is the love of Christ in us and through us that
leaves the sweet aroma to others.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are
being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15

As I've said before and it can't be repeated enough... most
unbelievers will be much more impressed by what we do
than what we say!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are times when God tells us to "go" and
there are times when He tells us "to be still and
know He is God." Following Jesus leads us to a
mountain top as well as through the valley of
Baca. But He is there, leading, guiding and loving
us through it. We learn to weep with Him as we see
things that hurt His heart and rejoice with Him as we
embrace the things that bring Him joy. One thing is certain
He will never leave us or forsake us.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the
morning. Psalm 30:5

If you're going through a valley right now or just waiting for God
to tell you what to do... know he is still there, working in the back
ground and cheering you on, from the sidelines. He will ALWAYS
be there!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are two big forces at work, external and internal.
We have very little control over external forces, such as
tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, illness or pain. What
matters is the internal force. How do I respond to that?
Over that I have complete control. (Leo F. Buscaglia)

SCRIPTURE:
The mind that is controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6

We worry, fret and stew, about world issues, health and finances.
We forget sometimes, that God is in control and we have no control
over those external forces, but God does!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessing-Freda

September 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are many reasons why we want to be religious.
God does not want our actions; He wants our hearts.
When our hearts are align with His, our actions will
follow to please Him. No one has to pretend or try to
act like a Christian. As you believe in Him, He will
change you. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5

When we love God as the above Scripture indicates, we
will not have to worry about his will for our lives, but in
the meantime, his grace covers a multitude of our mistakes!

Greetings: God bless you this day!
With the Labor Day week-end over, summer is officially
over and school has started today on the west coast. Be
in prayer for our school children. Today's poem is a
"Back To School Prayer."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God never dismisses a parent's prayer. Keep giving your
child to God, and in the right time and the right way, God
will give your child back to you. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you
I pray. Psalm 5:2

The best thing you can do for you child or grandchild, is pray
for them. And remember: It happens in God's timing, not
yours!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 5

Greetings: God bless you this "Labor Day."

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Let us all be thankful for our freedom and for our
founding fathers who laid a God-fearing foundation
for this great nation. But above all else, let us not forget
the One who made us-we are God's people, we are His
sheep and this nation is still His pasture. Take time
today to give Him praise and thanksgiving for the
true freedom in Jesus Christ. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Shout for joy to the Lord with gladness, come before him
with joyful song. Psalm 100:1

When was the last time you felt like shouting for joy?
I wonder... do I portray joy and gladness to those who
are not Christians?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 4

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Today, stop and give some time and attention to
the Lord, tell Him you love Him. Thank Him for
His thoughts of you and for always being with you.
And when in doubt, read the full chapter of Psalm
139... you will be blessed. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
How precious also are your thoughts to me, O Lord!
Psalm 139:17

God's thoughts are always with us. How often are our
thoughts with him?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today's thought inspired today's poem.
"Good News~~Bad News."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The evening news was full of the bad things that happened
today. I turned it off, not because I can't take bad news, but
because I knew what else happened today. Somewhere a mother
saw her new born for the first time. A child learned to be kind,
because he saw kindness in his mother. Today the sick were cared
for. Today someone finally realized how much God loved them.
Today millions of prayers went up to heaven on wings of faith.
Today this world is a little better for kindness that was shared.
Don't let the bad news bring you down.
(Joseph Mozzella-Christian Voices)

SCRIPTURE:
We can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a news program that only
broadcast GOOD NEWS!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Everyone wants the Lord to help when in trouble
or despairing, but for different reasons. Some want
material comfort, some desire to be liked among
co-workers and others seek relief from pain and
sickness. But the issue is why? In His actions on
the behalf of His children, God desires that others
might see His goodness, faithfulness and mercy.
He... not the one who cries out... is to be glorified
by the answer He gives. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
He does not forget the cry of the afflicted. Psalm 9:12

I've heard it said that there is no atheist in a foxhole... we
cry out to God in pain, sorrow or fear. If God does not
take away the situation, you can be sure, he will give you
the strength to see you through it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Can you believe it's the first day of September already!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
You might ask which comes first, good judgment or knowledge?
Today's society certainly gives great examples of knowledge, but
in application, they fall short. Old-fashioned common sense, some
would argue, is not common anymore. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Teach me good judgment and knowledge for I believe in your
commandments. Psalm 119:66

There is an e-mail floating around that says, "The Death Of Common
Sense." It is very clever and sadly true. If we try to live our lives
without Jesus, we have neither good judgment or common sense,
no matter how knowledgeable we are!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda
