December 31

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There is no future in any job. The future lies in the person
who holds the job. (From Bits and Pieces)

SCRIPTURE:
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions
and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy
in his work-this is a gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:19

Don't let your job or career define you and remember: it is a gift
from God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have your concerns this year made you wonder where
hope has gone, or if God is still working His purposes?
Know this: God is still all-powerful. He will carry out
His plan. Sin will be punished and righteousness will
prevail. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Say to God, "How Awesome are your deeds! So great is your
power that your enemies cringe before you." Psalm 66:3

We become so caught up in the unfairness and sin we see in the
world that, we lose sight of the power of God. I'm glad today's
thought reminded me that His power is still with us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Slow me down, God, when I am in a hurry and you're not.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes salvation.
Psalm 62:1 (NKJV)

I'm not one to wait so silently! And I get into trouble when I run
before God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Father's love for you is awesome... in the truest sense
of the word. He demonstrated it by sacrificing His only Son,
Jesus, through whom there is life both now and forevermore.
There is no greater gift! (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

Paul sums it up just right! I don't know what it says in the Greek,
but the translation inexpressible is certainly right. We do not have
the words in the English language to express, fully, God's love!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When times are hard, we cry out to God for help.
We press into Him. He is our only hope. We tend
to be less attentive to God when we are doing well
and life is cruising along. Regardless of where you
are today, remember one thing: you have a Lord and
Savior who only wants you. He desires a relationship
with you. Draw close to Him.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Then you say in your heart, "My power and the might
and of my hand has gained me wealth."
Deuteronomy 8:7

The above is dangerous thinking, any time we think we're
doing it on our own... we're on dangerous ground!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!
I hope you all had a lot of blessings yesterday!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When the odds are stacked against you, God will often
act to frustrate the schemes of your adversaries in some
miraculous way. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond
what you can bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Often times, we're not aware that God is working in the back
ground for us and helping us overcome the schemes of the devil
himself!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 25:

Greetings : God bless you this Special Lord's Day!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Lord's supper is an opportunity to remember what
the Lord has done for you. Thank God for his promises
and for allowing his body to be broken so that you
could be whole! (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
When he had given thanks, he broke the bread and said, "Do
this in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24

Have you noticed how often the Scriptures mention Jesus giving
thanks? What an example for us! Give thanks for this Christmas Day!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes when we experience great things, we can't
help but react. We can't sit still. We have to "go and see."
When in your life have you been so moved by something
that you had to get up and do something about it? Maybe
tell a friend? Maybe you threw a party? Maybe you marked
the day with a special gift?
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly
host, praising God and saying , "Glory to God in the highest!"
Luke 2:13

What a Might God we serve. One who knows how to give good gifts
and has a perfect way to announce it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you feeling like you're in darkness? It is just two days
until Christmas and although some of us are feeling the excitement
and anticipation, for many, Christmas can be a lonely time. Maybe
you're going through the holiday without a loved one for the first
time. Maybe the holidays bring back sad memories. But remember
Jesus came into the world to remove the darkness.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.
John 1:5

If you're feeling lonely this Christmas season, think of someone you can
cheer up and it will cheer you up too!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Thursday, December 22, 2011

December 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
During the day as you see Christmas decorations, think
about what they mean to you and how they do or don't
point to the birth of Jesus.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For a child is born, a son is given to us, authority rests on his
shoulders and he is named Wonderful, Counselor, Might God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

When I decorate my Christmas tree I take a walk down memory
lane. I have ornaments that my children have made-grandchildren
have made-friends have given me, some no longer with us. I think of
each one as place the ornament on the tree. Perhaps this is not the
same as thinking of the birth of Jesus, but it's an important part of
my Christmas!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Shepherds were simple people. They were uneducated,
low-skilled workers in a low prestige job. In Jesus' time,
they were considered unreliable and untrustworthy and
were not allowed to testify in court, yet theses were the
people whom the angels appeared. They were invited to
behold the greatest event in human history. God chose
who, by human standards, were not suitable to be legal
witnesses in court, to be his witness to the Savior of the
world! (Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds
said to one another, "Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing
that has happen, which the Lord has told us about." Luke 2:15

What a great God we serve!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

December 20

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you are struggling today with your walk with someone,
a marriage, a friendship, a partnership, you must first
get your walk back in agreement with the Lord. Ask the
Lord to help you walk with Him in those areas where you're
struggling. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Can two walk together, unless they agree? Amos 3:3

Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree. We will not always
agree with everyone, even those we love, but we can always love,
in spite of our differences!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Monday, December 19, 2011

December 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If there is something in your life which you believe
the Holy Spirit is working on, be thankful. It is
conformation that you are God's child. The Lord
will not force His will , He wants the best for you.
But He wants you to be willing to yield to His
leading. Pray... "Lord, if this is a conviction from
You, I ask You to remind me before I do it again."
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
See if there any offensive way in me, and lead me in
the way of everlasting. Psalm 39:24

I have found in my own life, that the Holy Spirit confirms
what God wants me to do. So many times I have tried to do
things that was clearly not the direction God wanted for me
and the Holy Spirit made it plain!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 18

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes our plans don't work out as we hope,
especially at Christmas. A well planned party fizzles,
a carefully chosen gift fails to impress, or family can't
be together the way you would like, because of death,
divorce or discord. Remember you always take
circumstances and work through them, to bring God
into your life. (Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
And while they were there, the time came to deliver the child.
Luke 2:6

I don't suppose Mary 's plans went the way she had planned them
for that very first Christmas. I doubt she would have chosen a stable
for the birth of the King of the universe, but God did and we must
remember He guides us as well!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 17

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If we were really honest, most of us would admit to having
thoughts like. "How can I do it all? How is this going to
work out? Why does life have to be so hard?" The added
pressure of the holiday season demands more time and
attention. Suddenly we find ourselves with no time to pray
or to seek the Lord. When your output exceeds your intake,
your upkeep is your downfall. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
You O God, refreshed your weary inheritance Psalm 68:9

There are only twenty-four hours, no matter what you do
and the hands of the clock keep ticking, so somethings do
not get done... let them go, take time to pray and seek God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Friday, December 16, 2011

December 16

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you're feeling worn out, ask God to give you rest
for your soul and show you how to slow down.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Come unto me all you that are weary and carrying heavy
burdens and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:26

As the Christmas season rushes on and you feel the stress
of all you have to do... stop and pray and take some deep
breaths... and relax!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do not beat yourself up during the restoration process.
It will take time and change often comes slowly. Praise
God that He is never in a rush. Relax He is on your side.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some count
slowness. He is patient, with you, not wanting anyone to
perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

We need to thank God for being patient with our human
weaknesses!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 14

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Oswald Chambers states, "We have to pray with our
eyes on God, not our difficulties." What are your
prayers concentrated on? Is the emphasis on the
background or the main subject? In all things, keep
a vertical focus with God as center point.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant
in prayer. Romans 12:12

Today's thought, caught me off guard... I'm not sure God
is the focus of my prayers. I ask for many things for many
people, but perhaps the focus is on what he can do for me
and not what can I do for him! How about you?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

December 13

Greetings: God bless you this day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Over time, we learn to appreciate the gift of God's
friendship. It becomes our salvation, not only at the
end of life, but here today! He is our guide, teacher,
comforter, wonderful counselor and strength.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

All gifts do not come in packages. Give someone a special
gift this Christmas season... tell then how much God loves
them!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 12

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Since I'm going to make some Christmas cut-out
cookies this morning and I always cut out a few heart
shaped ones, I thought today's thought appropriate.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When you think of a heart shape today, think about
what it means to honor God with a sincere heart.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
You show that you are a letter from Christ, written not
in ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets
of stone, but on the tables of human hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:3

As we get into this busy season... let us remember the
"reason for the season," and keep Jesus alive in our hearts!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 11

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God's gifts shed light on God's heart. God's good, generous
gifts. They come not wrapped in paper, but in passion. Not
placed around a tree, but a cross. And not covered with
ribbons, but sprinkled with blood. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from
the Father of heavenly lights. James 1:17

As you prepare for your gift-giving this Christmas season, think
of God's gift and what would he like you to give?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When you feel strong and powerful, remember God is
your source of strength. You will be better off in your
Christmas preparations and accomplishing your goals
when remember that.
(Eleanor Whitney-Daily Christmas devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

As you become so involved in Christmas preparations and
activities, try to remember, if you're really stressed, perhaps
you should back up and pare down some. I'm preaching to me as
well. I went into the doctor Tuesday, because I was feeling lousy
and my blood pressure was 202 over 90. He doubled my medicine
and added one and Thursday it was down 150 over 80, so I'm trying
to take my own advice!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Friday, December 9, 2011

December 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Perspective matters. If we continually see things from
man's perspective, we will be discouraged and disappointed
with the Lord. If we choose to get into the Word and see life
from His perspective, we find peace and joy.
(Daily Disciple Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The testing of your faith produces perseverance.
James 1:3

Testing is not something we look forward to, but it is
something that strengthens our daily walk with God.
Look upon it as "good medicine!"

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We can feel all alone in our pursuit of getting Christmas
"done." We feel anxious about our to-do-list. Are we
leaving room for God to direct us? What does he want
for us this Christmas season?
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas daily Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I say it again: Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4

He wants the same thing for us through the Christmas
season, as he wants each day... our love and devotion.
And he wants us to rejoice in him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today marks the seventieth Anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Be sure to fly your flag today.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As a former nurse in ICU, I have had to deal with a lot of life
and death issues. In spite of our belief system, all of us struggle
with sickness, disease, stress disorders, aging bodies and eventually
death. We pray for healing to the day we die, because it brings a ray
of hope. Let us make every day count, instead of counting down every
day. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For me to live is Christ. Philippians 1:21

In other words, If we're just waiting to die, we're dead already.
We need to LIVE until God calls us home!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

December 6

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Who knows how far your prayers will reach?
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The prayer of a righteous man/woman is powerful
and effective. James 5:16

Prayer is powerful. You may feel that health, or other
circumstances keep you from serving as you would like,
however being a prayer-warrior is the most powerful
way you can serve and the weakest of us can PRAY!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 5

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Think about where there is darkness in your life... ask
God to be your light, and shine in that dark place.
(Daily Christmas Devotional-Rose Richardson)

SCRIPTURE:
The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light,
those who lived in a land of deep darkness-on them light
has shined. Isaiah 9:2 (NRSV)

The birth of Jesus brought light into a world of darkness.
However we must follow that light or walk in darkness.
(The choice is ours)

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 4

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
It's not every day that we find someone that will
give you a second chance-much less someone who
will give you a second chance every day. But in
Jesus, Peter found both. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Peter ask, "Shall I forgive my brother up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, "I tell you not seven times, but seventy
times seven times." Matthew 18:21-22

How good are you at passing out second chance? Jesus was
a Master at it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God's presence with us is one of His greatest presents to us.
(Our Daily Bread)

SCRIPTURE:
I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5

What a comforting statement!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The peace of God is a promise for you today. Claim
it, speak it and live it. Throw off the distractions of
illness, financial loss, negative comments and self-
condemnation. And let the peace of Christ dwell in
you richly. All things of earth will pass away, but your
security for eternity is fixed. So fix your eyes on Jesus.
Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
And the peace of God which transcends all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7

What does Paul mean? "Transcends all understanding." I think
he means human reasoning and understanding. If we try to
reason out salvation and the hope of heaven from a human stand
point... we begin to doubt!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 1

Greetings: God bless you this dy!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We nurture love by sharing it with others. We want
love to grow... we show love. We demonstrate love,
by loving others. And here's the good part (the more we
demonstrate it, the more we shall pull it out of others.)
Let's get more love growing in our homes, our neighborhoods,
our communities. Start at home with hugging and smiling and
gentle words.( Ellie Brown Haley-Christian Voices.)

SCRIPTURE:
Dear children let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions
and in truth. 1 John 3:18

And another place to start with love, our churches... our collective body
that meets together must love each other to be effective in the neighborhood
and in our communities.

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings- Freda

November 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you hesitant to leave your comfort zone and enter
unfamiliar territory or circumstances? Do you avoid
interactions with individuals who live and think differently
than you? Christ left His heavenly comfort zone and endured
every discomfort imaginable, including death on a cross.
You may be the answer to someone's prayer today!
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in
triumphal procession and through us spreads the fragrance
of the knowledge of him everywhere. 2 Corinthians 2:14

The last line of today's thought: Are we an answer to prayer?
I hope so! We want to be God's hand and feet and if we are, we
will be the answer to someone's prayer!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you know Jesus, He is with you. He is always
on your side and He wants you to succeed at
everything you do. Stay on His team, work with
Him to change. There is no condemnation for
those who are in Christ, because He has given you
life in abundance. (Daly Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
He who hears my word and believes in him who sent
me has everlasting life. John 5:24

And if you're not experiencing that abundant life... don't
give up on God. Notice the Scripture says we will have
everlasting life, What's more abundant than that?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Frrda

November 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you in the midst of a trial or major decision in your life?
Are you searching for answers in various places? God brings
everlasting peace that continues to surpass our understanding.
Start out your day in God's word. The knowledge of His word
will give you peace and assurance. Try it and see what God
will do. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
And to know this love that surpasses all knowledge, that you may
be filled to the measure of all fullness in God. Ephesians 3:19

Another place the Scripture says the wisdom of this world is foolishness
with God, so to know, is not always to be wise. We need to not only study
His word, we need to live it as well!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 27

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God is good. Learn to seek Him in faith. It starts
with prayer and continues until you are praying
without ceasing. You will not be disappointed.
How could you ever be more satisfied than with
the very presence of God Himself?
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Hebrews 11:6

And remember: Even though you do not feel his
presence, all the time... he is always with you.
Your whole life can be a prayer to God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Gratitude for what the Lord has given you and
fellow Christians can bring peace and harmony.
Loving others for who they are and for the gifts
they have been given, means you will seek their
welfare and growth. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For you may be giving thanks well enough, but the
other person is not being built up. 1 Corinthians 14:17

Today's thought reminds me of something Mother Teresa
said, Someone ask her how she could minister to street people
with leprosy and she answered, "I see the face of Jesus in every
one I treat!" We should try to see the face of Jesus in those we
meet today. It will make a difference in how we treat them!

Know I Prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 25

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you find yourself in trials today, ask God to help
you find joy, through His Holy Spirit, so that you
will come through the testing with increased faith,
patience and strength. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various
trials, knowing the testing of your faith produces patience.
James 1:2-3

And if you fail the test today, know that failure is not
fatal. Since God is a God of second chance, you can try
again tomorrow!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Thursday, November 24, 2011

November 24

Greetings God bless you this day!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Someone said, "Maybe we can't give thanks for everything,
but we can give thanks in everything." And who should we
thank? The Lord God Almighty-who was in power yesterday
and who reigns today. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
We give thanks to you Lord God Almighty, who is and who was.
Revelation 11:17

I like today's thought. I sometime have felt guilty because I was not
thankful for everything. Perhaps I need to rethink and be thankful in
every circumstance. We can always find something positive in all
situations!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 23

Greetings God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As I watched my dog tiptoe over a twig, I am reminded
of how silly some of my fears look to God. What about
your fears? Have you thought about the things or even
the people who bring fear to your life? Maybe it is time
to step back and really look at the cause of fear, The Lord
wants to set you free of your fear, beginning today. Ask the
Lord to help you. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear,
what man can do to me. Hebrews 13:6

As I read today's thought it brought back a memory:
One time, my husband Jim, had me get on the roof with him.
When I started to climb down, I froze in fear, and said, "I can't do it!"
He replied, "You come down this minute, or I'll call the fire department."
I answered, "Oh, would you please!!" I finally braved it without the fire
department and it seems silly now, but it certainly didn't at the time!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
In John 2, Jesus and his disciples were invited
to a wedding. Why did he go? The answer is found
in the second verse. He was invited.
Big deal? I think so. I think it's significant that common
folk, in a little town, enjoyed his company. I think it's
noteworthy that the Almighty didn't act high and mighty.
The Holy One wasn't holier-than-thou. The One who knew
it all, wasn't a know-it-all. The One who made the stars didn't
keep his head in them. The One who owns all the stuff on earth,
never strutted it. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
John 2:2

The same One who enjoyed being with common folk... is the same
One who wants a relationship with you!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessing-Freda

Monday, November 21, 2011

November 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Today, take the time and pray for situations that
you may encounter with others who have questions
about your faith. Pray for strength and courage to speak
up and stand up for Jesus. Pray that you can be His
witness. Pray your words and actions will line up with
His Spirit. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
But who do you say I am? Peter answered and said, "The
Christ of God." Luke 9:20

Sometimes we don't have to say anything to be a good
witness for Christ. We just need to treat people as we

November 20

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!
Today's poem on my poetry blog:
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com
"A Sunday Kind Of Christian."

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We struggle with the material things of life.
We struggle with house, family and lands.
These things Jesus said we would receive
with persecution, but that we would receive
eternal life in the age to come. That's like
telling me that I would be in pain for five
minutes, but for the next 100 years I would
be in absolute bliss. We sometimes view the
first five minutes of pain as "everything" when
in spiritual truth, it is minor.
(Pat Earl-Christian Voices)

SCRIPTURE:
The man that's left all shall receive a hundredfold
now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters and mothers
and children and lands, with persecution; and in the
world to come eternal life. Mark 10:29

Words doesn't help much when we struggle with pain,
however, in comparison to eternity... this too shall pass!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The three grand essentials for happiness are:
Something to do.
Something to love.
Something to hope for.
(Thomas Chalmers)

SCRIPTURE:
But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before
God; and may they be happy and joyful.
Psalm 68:3

All three of those grand essentials can be found in
Christ Jesus!

November 18

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If the only prayer you ever say was "Thank you,"
that would suffice (Meister Eckhark-Heartwarmers)

SCRIPTURE:
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known
among the nations what he has done. 1 Chronicles 16:8

Amidst all the busy Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations,
stop and give thanks to God, that you have busy things to do
and live in a free country where you may do it. Keep Jesus in
in this Christmas and Thanksgiving season!

November 17

Greetings: God bless this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do you have friends who sharpen you? Are you the kind of
friend that sharpens others? God has given us friends for
His purposes. We have the greatest Friend of all, as Jesus
calls us friends. He will sharpen us if we submit to Him.
Friendships based on prayer and love result in growth and
maturity. Pray for your friends today.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of
his friends. Proverbs 27:17

And my friends... pray for me!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

bring your projects and behavior and issues to God. Allow
Him to work in your heart and mind.

For this God is our God for ever and ever, he will be our
guide, even to the end. Psalm 48:14

Have you been struggling lately? Are you stressed and don't
know where to turn? Perhaps you need to step back and
and decide "who's guiding you?"

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are others blessed because of you? Even if you are
the only Christian in your family, God's hand is on
you and your home will be covered with your prayers.
Continue to pray for your family. Seek the Lord's blessings
over those who do not know him. Press on, do not grow weary.
The Lord's blessings is not only on our own lives, but the lives
of those around us. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Blessings crown the head of the righteous.
Proverbs 10:6

Keep praying... God will bless your family through you!

the voice of the Lord. (Our Daily Bread)

listen to the voice of God!

November 11

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Be sure to fly you flag this Veteran's Day
and don't forget to thank God for your freedom
and thank a veteran too!
For those of you who have served in our
Military...I thank you!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We learn a lot from Joshua and the battle of Jericho.
We learn that God is sovereign and He has a plan for
all things. We learn to trust God and obey Him and
wait for His timing, despite what we think. We learn the
battle is His not ours! (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

And it is the same today as in Joshua's time, the battle
belongs to God and HE IS STILL IN CONTROL!

Galatians 5:13

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. First thank God for your
freedom, then thank a veteran!

November 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Who hasn't marveled at an ocean sunset, majestic mountain
peak or the glories of a waterfall? And considering earth's
fantastic balances to maintain life, who hasn't gasped at its
unlikelihood, or when studying earth's creatures, who hasn't
been astonished at how each animal is equipped to the tiniest
details to live in their environment? Creation is so astounding,
the Bible says by its existence alone, people have no excuse to
not believe in God. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or
give thanks to him. Romans 1:12

Just creation alone is enough reason to believe in the existence of God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Who would you stand in awe of if you met them?
A sports figure? A movie Star? The President? If
an ordinary human can generate so much admiration,
think what it will be like when you come face to face
with Jesus. You may not run up to Him and ask for
His autograph, but as the song I can only imagine says,
"You might in awe of Him be still!"
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The living creatures give honor and glory to him who
is seated on the throne. Revelation 4:9

I don't think there is any way our feeble minds can imagine
the awesome presence of our Lord and Savior!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Let this sink in. You will see the face of God. You will
look into the eyes of the One who has always seen
you. You will behold the mouth that commands history.
And if there is anything more amazing than the moment
you see His face, it's the moment He touches yours.
(Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4

And you and I will cry nevermore!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 6

Greetings God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are times when I wonder if God will answer
certain prayers of mine There are prayers that I
pray, knowing God has put them in my heart. But
still I wait and wonder, not about the what, but
about the when and how. Where is my faith?
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in
prayer. Romans 12:12

What's so awesome about God, is that he gives us the
freedom to question the how and when?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 5

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Before, even as behind, God is-and all is well.
(Whittier)

SCRIPTURE:
I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord

open our eyes!

November 4

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Embrace change. Seek new ideas. Adopt new methods,
Maintaining the status quo will only keep you in a rut
and that's not where real life is lived. Step out of your
rut-and move up. Let the light of new ideas shine through
your life. (The Pocket Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The intelligent man is always open to new ideas. In fact,
he looks for them. Proverbs 18:15 (TLB)

To stay young at heart, you must keep learning and not be
afraid to try something new!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God uses the foolish things of the world to confound
the wise. God reveals His will and blessings to the
child-like. God empowers everyday people to fulfill
abundant promises without money, without power,
without titles. The prayers and the praises of the
saints have higher ratings and rewards than the most
powerful, self sufficient persons on earth.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Unless you change and become like little children, you
will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

In another verse Jesus said, you must be wise as serpents
and as harmless as doves. To become child-like does not
mean to be foolish!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Exercise your faith today by forgiving in the name of
Jesus, those who have dealt unseemly with you. Find
grace to forgive everyone! (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Joseph, said to them, "Do not fear, for am I in the place
of God?" Genesis 50:19

Joseph had a very good reason to hold on to bitterness,
but he let go of it and forgave his brothers . It paid of...
big time. Is there anyone you need to forgive today?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

November 1

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Welcome to the first day of November!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
No matter what happens to you, God can ease the
pounding of your heart by quieting your mind.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them
to their desired haven. Psalm 107:30

Part of my heart pounding experiences were scares of things
that never materialized!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 31

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Happy Halloween to all of you.
We live in a senior mobile home park
and sadly we do not have any trick or treaters.
I miss that!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Nothing we could ever try could compare to actually
being given a new start in life. Jesus promises us that
we not only get a new start, but we become a new creation.
We are born again in His Spirit. We are forever changed.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation
2 Corinthians 5:17

We hear so much about "make-over," theses days,
You can't beat the one mentioned in today's thought!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 30

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Some of the hurts you have cured
And the sharpest you still have survived.
But the torments and grief you endured
Are from the evils which never arrived.
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

SCRIPTURE:
Through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures
we have hope. Romans 15:4

We often suffer most from the things that never happen.
Our hope is found in the Scripture for real or imaginary
hurts!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
In many ways, your life is as fragile as a tiny plant.
Cold winds may blow over you, leaving you feeling
withered and ruined. But God shines his light on your
life and you can blossom again!
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness
will look down from the sky. Psalm 85:11 (NRSV)

We need God's light in our lives, just as plants need sunshine!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If the slim fingers of a radio can pluck a melody
from the night and toss it over continent and sea,
why should mortals wonder if God hears prayers?
(Elizabeth Rockwood)

SCRIPTURE:
This is the confidence we have in approaching God;
that if we ask anything according to his will, he will
hear us. 1 John 5:14

We have no idea how powerful our prayers really are!
And we do not understand what a privilege it is to approach
the very throne of God!

Know I prayed for you today: Blessings-Freda

October 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Christian walk takes one day at a time. Some days
are better than others, but everyday belongs to the
Lord. The only way to walk with the Lord consistently
is to spend time with Him everyday. When times are hard
and depression creeps in, turn to the Lord and when things
are good turn to the Lord. Listen to the Lord and be willing
to change as He guides you. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
you are with me. Psalm 23:4

In Ladies Bible Class Tuesday, we were talking about love.
Someone said you need to know someone to love them. We
need to know God to love him as well! The best way to know
God is to talk to him (in prayer) let him talk to you (through
his word)

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 26

Greetings:God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you belong to Christ, God is with you.
So be content in the place where He has
you right now. Choose joy even through
tough circumstances. Let His Spirit calm
you in troubled times.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will
be with you; he will not leave you or forsake
you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Deuteronomy 31:8

Just what I needed to hear today. Did you notice
that the thought said joy is a choice? So, how about
choosing joy with me today?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 25

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGH FOR TODAY:
In many ways you may feel like a prisoner. You may
have habits you cannot break, you may find yourself
in circumstances that have not changed. You may feel
God isn't answering your prayers. What are you to do?
Worship. Worship when you're sad, feel bad, after you're
mad. Worship every day, at work, at play. Worship will
change your life. Your worship might set others free as
well. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing
to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1

In other words worship is a way of life not just something
we do on Sunday!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
It's not that our plans are bad, but that God's
plans are better.
Your blocked door doesn't mean that God
doesn't love you. It's proof that he does.
(Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
And my ways are far beyond anything you can
imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than
the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways .
Isaiah 55: 8-9

Yesterday, a Christian friend had the great joy of seeing
her husband of 26 years, baptized into Christ. I wrote her
a note to tell her how happy I was to hear the news! Jim
and I were married 25 years before he became a Christian.
This timing was not mine, but it was God's. We need to stop
trying to out guess God and let him have his way in our
lives. If you are waiting for God's decision in your life,
know the timing belongs to God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 23

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God is with you-He will never leave you or forsake
you-even when the losses are mounting and things
seem hopeless. That's the type of God He is. Fear
is a natural reaction to hardships and danger, but
in such moments it is good to be reminded of His
covenant with you. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
God has said, "I never will I leave you; never will
I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5

God said it... I believe it... I hope you do too!

to save you and deliver you from his hand.
Jeremiah 42:11

We may never know the same dangers that the Israelites
knew, when Nebuchadnezzar invade Jerusalem, but Satan
uses many subtle ways of invading our peace! God reassures
us that He is with us!

(Vantage Point Devotional)

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do you feel like your best years have passed you by?
Hogwash! You will do your best work in heaven. Do
you regret wasting seasons of life on foolish pursuits?
So do I. But we can stop our laments. We have eternity
to make up for the lost time. Are you puzzled by the
challenges of your days? Then see yourself as an uncut

your place in his kingdom. (Max Lucado)

October 16

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
For some reason, we do not give God our absolute trust.
We second guess Him and wonder if He knows best. The
Lord tells us that we are engraved o the palms of His hand.
His love for us is immeasurable and He knows every hair on
your head. He knows your name! (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Isaiah 49:16

What an awesome God! One who has the power to create the
universe and the love to count the hairs on my head and to
engrave my name on the palms of his hands!

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

This will be the last post until next Saturday.
Our daughter, Janet and her husband, Richard
Are here visiting from The Nashville area and
will leave Friday.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God's Spirit directs us. We actually "Keep in step
with the Spirit." (Gal. 5:25) He is the drum major;
We are the marching band. He is the sergeant; we
are the platoon. He directs and leads; we obey and
follow. Not always that easy? (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with
the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

If it was always easy... the Christian road would be much
more crowded!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Christians do you know that you are in God's
"gifted program?" The Holy Spirit is your
teacher and the Bible your text. All too often,
though, it is easy to amass information in your
head, but the directions never make it to the
heart. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
My son, do not forget my teachings, but let your
heart keep my commands. Proverbs 3:1

It is not enough to know information. It's not even
enough to believe. We must remember that the devil
and his helpers believe . We must live what we've learned
and what we believe!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 6

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The enemy will use every scheme he can against us,
to discourage us from moving forward. I wonder how
many times we give up at the last minute... what would
happen if we never gave up? When the Lord calls you
to step out, you must go. You will be tempted to quit.
To combat the temptation to quit, you must stay in
the Word of God. When you feel weary turn to the
Lord for strength and encouragement.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season
we shall reap, if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

Giving up is easy... prodding along is hard, but remember:
We're only sowers, the harvest belongs to God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 5

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
insecurities, anxiety, panic, terror, fear, brings
different reactions to America's people. Whatever
your response it consumes a tremendous amount
of energy.
Certainly the remembered events of September 11, 1001
caused America to panic. Many prayed that fateful day.
And many have forgotten that God has continued to be
America's shield. Praise Him for His protection. Give
your anxieties over to His keeping.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The word of the Lord came to Abram, in a vision "I am your
shield; your reward shall be great." Genesis 15:1

God was in control Abraham's day and He is still in control
today!

October 4

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus takes what seems insufficient to me and works
miracles in ways I cannot. It is not up to me to make
things work. It is up to Him. When I have less than
enough, then He has an opportunity to be more than
enough. When I hand things over to Him, He blesses
and breaks and hands back in abundance, (just like
the five loaves and two fish) Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Then he took the five loaves and two fish and looking
into heaven he blessed and broke them and gave them
to the disciples to set before the multitude. Luke 9:16

Today, allow God to multiply your gifts!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

October 3

Greetings: Good bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When you keep saying you are too busy then you
are never free. When you keep saying you have no
time, then you will never have time. When you keep
saying you will do it tomorrow-tomorrow never
comes. (Author Unknown)

SCRIPTURE:
Today if you hear his voice do not harden your hearts.
Psalm 95:7

So... do it TODAY-write that note, make that visit, make
that call, tell someone, "I love you," give someone a hug,
read your Bible-talk to God! Oh, there's so many things to
do today... I must say good-bye!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We all die. The goal is not to live forever; the goal is to
create something that will. (Heartwarmers)

SCRIPTURE:
For you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation
of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

God created something that will live forever... your soul!

October 1

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Can you believe it is October already!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If anger causes you to run off at the mouth, lose
self-control. You have crossed over to being angry
and sinning. When anger comes (not if ) there are
a few things to remember:
1. Ask God to help you with self-control.
2. Pray for His perspective on the situation.
3. Lose the emotion before you try to communicate.
4. Go to the Word for wisdom.
We are responsible for our behavior, not others.
We are accountable before the Lord on how we handle
the situation and how we resolve it.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be angry and do not sin. Ephesians 4:26

And thank God for His grace, when you do blow it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
To give your best... and be your best... for God,
you must make learning a lifelong process. The
wisdom and understanding that is most important
is found in the Word of God. Has your dedication
to the Scripture faded? Today, perhaps more than
ever before faithful students and teachers are needed
in America. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget and do not turn
away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5

The fountain of youth is found in learning. Those who
learn something new each day... will never grow old!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not
overcome it. This is wonderful news. Nothing can extinguish
the One true light. Not atheism, a godless media, the scientific
community or all the antichrist through history. The darkness
that descended on the cross that crucifixion afternoon could not
put out the light of eternal life.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not
understood it. John 1:5

And NOTHING will put out the light!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

On my poetry blog, today's poem is on the
subject of praise. Taken from Psalm 9
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Let us call to remember: Acknowledge what God has
done and give Him glory. There is power in praise that
overcomes pride by prioritizing His greatness and inviting
His presence. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I will praise you O Lord, with all my heart. Psalm 9:1

Let praise remove doubt and fear!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes our attention must be captured by God
using drastic actions. I heard the Lord telling me to
slow down, but it took physical changes in my life
before I began to listen. God wants more of us. He
wants to be with us and He wants our undivided
attention when we are with Him. Take time today
to stop and be still before the Lord.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10

Today, be still and let God lead you, instead of hurrying
ahead and leading your own way!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Corrie Ten Boom, was a holocaust surviver arrested
for coming to the aid of the Jews, being captured by
the Germans. Her cell was infested by fleas with fleas
so numerous she could hardly bear it. Her sister, Betsie
reminded her to be thankful for everything, even fleas.
Later she discovered that the guards would not cone near
the cell because of the fleas. In her adversity, God was
protecting her. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Be thankful in all things and God's peace and protection
will abound. Philippians 4:6-7

It takes a lot of faith to be thankful for fleas. Coorie,
wrote in her book that they could freely read their Bible,
because of the fleas that kept the guards away!

September 25

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Even if our earthly families are not the most stable
and strong. We can be encouraged to know our
heavenly family is one in the Lord. It will not matter
when we get to heaven who did what to whom or how
much pain was involved. Our heavenly Father will take
care of us and home will be with Him. I love and appreciate
my family very much, but I take comfort in knowing I have
the greatest family in the body of Christ.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and
earth is named. Ephesians : 14-15

If you do not belong to a Christian body of believers, a
church family, I urge you to become a part of the body
of Christ. What a great blessing this is!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
"Surely this was a righteous man?" This statement
in Luke 23:47 says a lot doesn't it? It says the rubber
of faith meets the road of reality under hardship. It
says the trueness of one's belief is revealed in pain.
Genuineness and character are unveiled in misfortune.
Faith is not best in a three-piece Sunday suit, but at
the hospital beside, cancer wards and cemeteries.
Anyone can preach a sermon on a mount surrounded
by daises. But only one with a gut full of faith can live
a sermon on a mountain of pain! (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Surely this was a righteous man.
Luke 23:47

AMEN! Is all I can add to today's thought.

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus is our perfect example of friendship.
He laid down His life just for us, because
He is our true friend. Today, we can take
comfort in knowing that no matter what
happens, Jesus is always with us. Do you
have a friend or companion who is there
for you? Regardless of how alone we may
feel, we need to take heart in knowing Jesus
is our friend. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Greater love has no man than this, that he
lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

And that is just what Jesus did!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God answers sharp and sudden
on some prayers.
And thrust the thing we have
prayed for in our face.
A gauntlet with a gift in it.
(Elizabeth Rockwood)

SCRIPTURE:
Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.
John 16:24

I do believe today's thought. Often when I've prayed for
God to use me, he has put me in some situation that was
way out of my comfort zone. I've always received a blessing
for having done so!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
How long has it been since you experienced the
unparalleled joy of your personal relationship
with Christ? Even if He seems far away, be assured
that your journey back need not be lengthy. You
need only to open the door of your heart, and He
will be with you. (Author Unknown)

SCRIPTURE:
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
Revelation 3:20

He is always on call and His door is never closed!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 20

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Instead of begging God for what you do not have,
start thanking Him for what you do have. Instead
of feeling badly about what you're missing on earth,
start asking Him to give you a heart to have many
things in heaven. We are passing through here, but
heaven is for eternity. God knows what is best to
keep you balanced. Start praising God. Start praying
to please Him. Try and seek His face instead of His
hand. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
In the day of my favor I heard you, and in the day of
salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of
God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2

Today's thought can't be repeated enough. Start today
asking God to teach you how to please him, instead of
asking him to please you. I need to do this too!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you in a battle today over things in your mind?
There are two things you must incorporate into your
daily routine. First open the Bible and read a verse,
Psalm, Proverbs or the TN. Whatever works for you.
Second, ask God to put His Word into your mind
throughout the day. Let the Lord fight for you by
letting Him have control over your mind, instead of
trying to handle it yourself.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The weapons we fight with are not weapons of this world,
on the contrary, they have divine power. 2 Corinthians 10:4

We need to let God go to battle for us he has a divine arsenal,
that we do not have without him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 18

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Real courage embraces twin realities of current
difficulties and ultimate triumph. Yes, life stinks.
But not forever. As one of my friends likes to say.
"Everything will work out in the end. If it's not
working out it's not the end." (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
There will be wars and rumors of wars, but see to it
that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but
the end is still to come. Matthew 24:6

And another way of saying today's quote, "This too shall
pass."

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A hero is a man who does what he can.
( Romain Rolland-Heartwarmers)

SCRIPTURE:
It your enemy, is hungry feed him feed him; if he is
thirsty give him something to drink. In doing this you
will heap coals on his head. Romans 12:20

It takes a hero to follow the above Scripture!

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the
enemy of growth. (The Pocket Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Romans 12:2

To conform to something, just because it's always been
done that way, is not wise, but to make make changes
just for change sake is also unwise!

September 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The more you listen to the voice within you, the
better you will hear what is sounding outside.
(Reminisce Magazine)

SCRIPTURE:
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

We sometimes have have to stop and listen...
to know that God is speaking to us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 14

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The enemy wants you to feel so condemned and depressed
that you quit or are too demoralized to minister effectively
and powerfully. Jesus came to give us life to the fullest. He
wants us to share in His joy. It is not for us to dwell on our
unworthiness, but to praise Him for His willingness to save
us. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Psalm 150:6

If you're going through a bad patch... ill health, family problems,
financial problems... do not listen to the voice of the enemy. Know
that God is still there and this too shall pass!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 13

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A Jew in Cologne Germany, during Hitler's reign of terror,
wrote from a cell. "I believe in the sun, even when it is
not shining. I believe in love, even when I do not feel it
and I believe in God, even when there is silence."
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
How long O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long
will you hide your face from me? Psalm 13:1

Ever felt as though God is hiding his face from you? What faith
it takes to be in the situation as the man in today's thought, and
still believe God is present. He is you know... even when there
is silence!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 12

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We need to get into the habit of asking God for wisdom,
knowledge and understanding. The NT writer, James
instructs us to ask for wisdom. God who gives to us all
liberally and without reproach, will give to those who
ask, regardless of our shortcomings and faults. There
will be tangible fruit in your life as you begin to under-
stand things from a different perspective.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives
generously to all without fault, and it will be given to him
James 1:5

We can NEVER ask too many times for wisdom!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day
As America pauses to remember the
tragedy that took place ten yeas ago
be sure to fly your flag in remembrance.
Today's poem:"September The Eleventh."

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A government big enough to give you everything you want
is strong enough to take everything you have.
(Thomas Jefferson-From Dorris Tune)

SCRIPTURE:
You will call upon me and pray and I will listen to you.
Jeremiah 29:12

Be in prayer today, for the future of our country and the
safety of it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As a Christian, you represent Christ, wherever you go
and whatever you do. What does that look like in real
life? Maybe forgiving someone that hurt you. Maybe
giving up something you want to bless someone else.
The root of sacrifice and unselfishness goes back to
love. It is the love of Christ in us and through us that
leaves the sweet aroma to others.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are
being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15

As I've said before and it can't be repeated enough... most
unbelievers will be much more impressed by what we do
than what we say!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are times when God tells us to "go" and
there are times when He tells us "to be still and
know He is God." Following Jesus leads us to a
mountain top as well as through the valley of
Baca. But He is there, leading, guiding and loving
us through it. We learn to weep with Him as we see
things that hurt His heart and rejoice with Him as we
embrace the things that bring Him joy. One thing is certain
He will never leave us or forsake us.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the
morning. Psalm 30:5

If you're going through a valley right now or just waiting for God
to tell you what to do... know he is still there, working in the back
ground and cheering you on, from the sidelines. He will ALWAYS
be there!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are two big forces at work, external and internal.
We have very little control over external forces, such as
tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, illness or pain. What
matters is the internal force. How do I respond to that?
Over that I have complete control. (Leo F. Buscaglia)

SCRIPTURE:
The mind that is controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6

We worry, fret and stew, about world issues, health and finances.
We forget sometimes, that God is in control and we have no control
over those external forces, but God does!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessing-Freda

September 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There are many reasons why we want to be religious.
God does not want our actions; He wants our hearts.
When our hearts are align with His, our actions will
follow to please Him. No one has to pretend or try to
act like a Christian. As you believe in Him, He will
change you. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5

When we love God as the above Scripture indicates, we
will not have to worry about his will for our lives, but in
the meantime, his grace covers a multitude of our mistakes!

September 6

Greetings: God bless you this day!
With the Labor Day week-end over, summer is officially
over and school has started today on the west coast. Be
in prayer for our school children. Today's poem is a
"Back To School Prayer."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God never dismisses a parent's prayer. Keep giving your
child to God, and in the right time and the right way, God
will give your child back to you. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you
I pray. Psalm 5:2

The best thing you can do for you child or grandchild, is pray
for them. And remember: It happens in God's timing, not
yours!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 5

Greetings: God bless you this "Labor Day."

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Let us all be thankful for our freedom and for our
founding fathers who laid a God-fearing foundation
for this great nation. But above all else, let us not forget
the One who made us-we are God's people, we are His
sheep and this nation is still His pasture. Take time
today to give Him praise and thanksgiving for the
true freedom in Jesus Christ. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Shout for joy to the Lord with gladness, come before him
with joyful song. Psalm 100:1

When was the last time you felt like shouting for joy?
I wonder... do I portray joy and gladness to those who
are not Christians?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 4

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Today, stop and give some time and attention to
the Lord, tell Him you love Him. Thank Him for
His thoughts of you and for always being with you.
And when in doubt, read the full chapter of Psalm
139... you will be blessed. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
How precious also are your thoughts to me, O Lord!
Psalm 139:17

God's thoughts are always with us. How often are our
thoughts with him?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today's thought inspired today's poem.
"Good News~~Bad News."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The evening news was full of the bad things that happened
today. I turned it off, not because I can't take bad news, but
because I knew what else happened today. Somewhere a mother
saw her new born for the first time. A child learned to be kind,
because he saw kindness in his mother. Today the sick were cared
for. Today someone finally realized how much God loved them.
Today millions of prayers went up to heaven on wings of faith.
Today this world is a little better for kindness that was shared.
Don't let the bad news bring you down.
(Joseph Mozzella-Christian Voices)

SCRIPTURE:
We can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a news program that only
broadcast GOOD NEWS!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Everyone wants the Lord to help when in trouble
or despairing, but for different reasons. Some want
material comfort, some desire to be liked among
co-workers and others seek relief from pain and
sickness. But the issue is why? In His actions on
the behalf of His children, God desires that others
might see His goodness, faithfulness and mercy.
He... not the one who cries out... is to be glorified
by the answer He gives. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
He does not forget the cry of the afflicted. Psalm 9:12

I've heard it said that there is no atheist in a foxhole... we
cry out to God in pain, sorrow or fear. If God does not
take away the situation, you can be sure, he will give you
the strength to see you through it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Can you believe it's the first day of September already!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
You might ask which comes first, good judgment or knowledge?
Today's society certainly gives great examples of knowledge, but
in application, they fall short. Old-fashioned common sense, some
would argue, is not common anymore. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Teach me good judgment and knowledge for I believe in your
commandments. Psalm 119:66

There is an e-mail floating around that says, "The Death Of Common
Sense." It is very clever and sadly true. If we try to live our lives
without Jesus, we have neither good judgment or common sense,
no matter how knowledgeable we are!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 31

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Set your alarm for half hour earlier than you normally
get up and make a commitment to do it every day for a
week. And give that half hour to God, ask Him to wake
you up to His Words and to give you the peace that will
carry you through the day. When you make this change
in your daily habits, God will bless you.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
My voice you shall hear in the morning O Lord; in the
morning I will direct it to you and I will look up.
Psalm 5:3

It's a scary world out there... don't leave home without
God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

August 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Lord wants us to know Him personally, to love Him
with all we are and to honor Him. Why? Because He wants
to bless us, protect us and lead us in His way.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through me. John 14:6

God always wants what's best for his children!

Monday, August 29, 2011

August 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
You can have complete confidence in the words and works
of Christ, who was sent by God and is with the Father. He
is incapable of error or duplicity (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he sent.
John 6:29

Not all messengers are without error and not all messenges
are true... we have the assurance that God's message, through
Jesus Christ, is true. The message is love and Christ proved
it on Calvary!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda
