December 31

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There is no future in any job. The future lies in the person
who holds the job. (From Bits and Pieces)

SCRIPTURE:
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions
and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy
in his work-this is a gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:19

Don't let your job or career define you and remember: it is a gift
from God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have your concerns this year made you wonder where
hope has gone, or if God is still working His purposes?
Know this: God is still all-powerful. He will carry out
His plan. Sin will be punished and righteousness will
prevail. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Say to God, "How Awesome are your deeds! So great is your
power that your enemies cringe before you." Psalm 66:3

We become so caught up in the unfairness and sin we see in the
world that, we lose sight of the power of God. I'm glad today's
thought reminded me that His power is still with us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Slow me down, God, when I am in a hurry and you're not.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes salvation.
Psalm 62:1 (NKJV)

I'm not one to wait so silently! And I get into trouble when I run
before God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Father's love for you is awesome... in the truest sense
of the word. He demonstrated it by sacrificing His only Son,
Jesus, through whom there is life both now and forevermore.
There is no greater gift! (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

Paul sums it up just right! I don't know what it says in the Greek,
but the translation inexpressible is certainly right. We do not have
the words in the English language to express, fully, God's love!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When times are hard, we cry out to God for help.
We press into Him. He is our only hope. We tend
to be less attentive to God when we are doing well
and life is cruising along. Regardless of where you
are today, remember one thing: you have a Lord and
Savior who only wants you. He desires a relationship
with you. Draw close to Him.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Then you say in your heart, "My power and the might
and of my hand has gained me wealth."
Deuteronomy 8:7

The above is dangerous thinking, any time we think we're
doing it on our own... we're on dangerous ground!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!
I hope you all had a lot of blessings yesterday!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When the odds are stacked against you, God will often
act to frustrate the schemes of your adversaries in some
miraculous way. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond
what you can bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Often times, we're not aware that God is working in the back
ground for us and helping us overcome the schemes of the devil
himself!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 25:

Greetings : God bless you this Special Lord's Day!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The Lord's supper is an opportunity to remember what
the Lord has done for you. Thank God for his promises
and for allowing his body to be broken so that you
could be whole! (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
When he had given thanks, he broke the bread and said, "Do
this in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24

Have you noticed how often the Scriptures mention Jesus giving
thanks? What an example for us! Give thanks for this Christmas Day!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes when we experience great things, we can't
help but react. We can't sit still. We have to "go and see."
When in your life have you been so moved by something
that you had to get up and do something about it? Maybe
tell a friend? Maybe you threw a party? Maybe you marked
the day with a special gift?
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly
host, praising God and saying , "Glory to God in the highest!"
Luke 2:13

What a Might God we serve. One who knows how to give good gifts
and has a perfect way to announce it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you feeling like you're in darkness? It is just two days
until Christmas and although some of us are feeling the excitement
and anticipation, for many, Christmas can be a lonely time. Maybe
you're going through the holiday without a loved one for the first
time. Maybe the holidays bring back sad memories. But remember
Jesus came into the world to remove the darkness.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.
John 1:5

If you're feeling lonely this Christmas season, think of someone you can
cheer up and it will cheer you up too!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
During the day as you see Christmas decorations, think
about what they mean to you and how they do or don't
point to the birth of Jesus.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For a child is born, a son is given to us, authority rests on his
shoulders and he is named Wonderful, Counselor, Might God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

When I decorate my Christmas tree I take a walk down memory
lane. I have ornaments that my children have made-grandchildren
have made-friends have given me, some no longer with us. I think of
each one as place the ornament on the tree. Perhaps this is not the
same as thinking of the birth of Jesus, but it's an important part of
my Christmas!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Shepherds were simple people. They were uneducated,
low-skilled workers in a low prestige job. In Jesus' time,
they were considered unreliable and untrustworthy and
were not allowed to testify in court, yet theses were the
people whom the angels appeared. They were invited to
behold the greatest event in human history. God chose
who, by human standards, were not suitable to be legal
witnesses in court, to be his witness to the Savior of the
world! (Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds
said to one another, "Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing
that has happen, which the Lord has told us about." Luke 2:15

What a great God we serve!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 20

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you are struggling today with your walk with someone,
a marriage, a friendship, a partnership, you must first
get your walk back in agreement with the Lord. Ask the
Lord to help you walk with Him in those areas where you're
struggling. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Can two walk together, unless they agree? Amos 3:3

Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree. We will not always
agree with everyone, even those we love, but we can always love,
in spite of our differences!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If there is something in your life which you believe
the Holy Spirit is working on, be thankful. It is
conformation that you are God's child. The Lord
will not force His will , He wants the best for you.
But He wants you to be willing to yield to His
leading. Pray... "Lord, if this is a conviction from
You, I ask You to remind me before I do it again."
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
See if there any offensive way in me, and lead me in
the way of everlasting. Psalm 39:24

I have found in my own life, that the Holy Spirit confirms
what God wants me to do. So many times I have tried to do
things that was clearly not the direction God wanted for me
and the Holy Spirit made it plain!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 18

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sometimes our plans don't work out as we hope,
especially at Christmas. A well planned party fizzles,
a carefully chosen gift fails to impress, or family can't
be together the way you would like, because of death,
divorce or discord. Remember you always take
circumstances and work through them, to bring God
into your life. (Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
And while they were there, the time came to deliver the child.
Luke 2:6

I don't suppose Mary 's plans went the way she had planned them
for that very first Christmas. I doubt she would have chosen a stable
for the birth of the King of the universe, but God did and we must
remember He guides us as well!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 17

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If we were really honest, most of us would admit to having
thoughts like. "How can I do it all? How is this going to
work out? Why does life have to be so hard?" The added
pressure of the holiday season demands more time and
attention. Suddenly we find ourselves with no time to pray
or to seek the Lord. When your output exceeds your intake,
your upkeep is your downfall. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
You O God, refreshed your weary inheritance Psalm 68:9

There are only twenty-four hours, no matter what you do
and the hands of the clock keep ticking, so somethings do
not get done... let them go, take time to pray and seek God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Friday, December 16, 2011

December 16

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you're feeling worn out, ask God to give you rest
for your soul and show you how to slow down.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Come unto me all you that are weary and carrying heavy
burdens and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:26

As the Christmas season rushes on and you feel the stress
of all you have to do... stop and pray and take some deep
breaths... and relax!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do not beat yourself up during the restoration process.
It will take time and change often comes slowly. Praise
God that He is never in a rush. Relax He is on your side.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise as some count
slowness. He is patient, with you, not wanting anyone to
perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

We need to thank God for being patient with our human
weaknesses!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 14

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Oswald Chambers states, "We have to pray with our
eyes on God, not our difficulties." What are your
prayers concentrated on? Is the emphasis on the
background or the main subject? In all things, keep
a vertical focus with God as center point.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant
in prayer. Romans 12:12

Today's thought, caught me off guard... I'm not sure God
is the focus of my prayers. I ask for many things for many
people, but perhaps the focus is on what he can do for me
and not what can I do for him! How about you?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

December 13

Greetings: God bless you this day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Over time, we learn to appreciate the gift of God's
friendship. It becomes our salvation, not only at the
end of life, but here today! He is our guide, teacher,
comforter, wonderful counselor and strength.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

All gifts do not come in packages. Give someone a special
gift this Christmas season... tell then how much God loves
them!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 12

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Since I'm going to make some Christmas cut-out
cookies this morning and I always cut out a few heart
shaped ones, I thought today's thought appropriate.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When you think of a heart shape today, think about
what it means to honor God with a sincere heart.
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
You show that you are a letter from Christ, written not
in ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets
of stone, but on the tables of human hearts.
2 Corinthians 3:3

As we get into this busy season... let us remember the
"reason for the season," and keep Jesus alive in our hearts!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 11

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God's gifts shed light on God's heart. God's good, generous
gifts. They come not wrapped in paper, but in passion. Not
placed around a tree, but a cross. And not covered with
ribbons, but sprinkled with blood. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from
the Father of heavenly lights. James 1:17

As you prepare for your gift-giving this Christmas season, think
of God's gift and what would he like you to give?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When you feel strong and powerful, remember God is
your source of strength. You will be better off in your
Christmas preparations and accomplishing your goals
when remember that.
(Eleanor Whitney-Daily Christmas devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13

As you become so involved in Christmas preparations and
activities, try to remember, if you're really stressed, perhaps
you should back up and pare down some. I'm preaching to me as
well. I went into the doctor Tuesday, because I was feeling lousy
and my blood pressure was 202 over 90. He doubled my medicine
and added one and Thursday it was down 150 over 80, so I'm trying
to take my own advice!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Friday, December 9, 2011

December 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Perspective matters. If we continually see things from
man's perspective, we will be discouraged and disappointed
with the Lord. If we choose to get into the Word and see life
from His perspective, we find peace and joy.
(Daily Disciple Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The testing of your faith produces perseverance.
James 1:3

Testing is not something we look forward to, but it is
something that strengthens our daily walk with God.
Look upon it as "good medicine!"

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Thursday, December 8, 2011

December 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We can feel all alone in our pursuit of getting Christmas
"done." We feel anxious about our to-do-list. Are we
leaving room for God to direct us? What does he want
for us this Christmas season?
(Eleanor Whitney-Christmas daily Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I say it again: Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4

He wants the same thing for us through the Christmas
season, as he wants each day... our love and devotion.
And he wants us to rejoice in him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 7

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today marks the seventieth Anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Be sure to fly your flag today.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
As a former nurse in ICU, I have had to deal with a lot of life
and death issues. In spite of our belief system, all of us struggle
with sickness, disease, stress disorders, aging bodies and eventually
death. We pray for healing to the day we die, because it brings a ray
of hope. Let us make every day count, instead of counting down every
day. (Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For me to live is Christ. Philippians 1:21

In other words, If we're just waiting to die, we're dead already.
We need to LIVE until God calls us home!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Tuesday, December 6, 2011

December 6

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Who knows how far your prayers will reach?
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
The prayer of a righteous man/woman is powerful
and effective. James 5:16

Prayer is powerful. You may feel that health, or other
circumstances keep you from serving as you would like,
however being a prayer-warrior is the most powerful
way you can serve and the weakest of us can PRAY!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Monday, December 5, 2011

December 5

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Think about where there is darkness in your life... ask
God to be your light, and shine in that dark place.
(Daily Christmas Devotional-Rose Richardson)

SCRIPTURE:
The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light,
those who lived in a land of deep darkness-on them light
has shined. Isaiah 9:2 (NRSV)

The birth of Jesus brought light into a world of darkness.
However we must follow that light or walk in darkness.
(The choice is ours)

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 4

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
It's not every day that we find someone that will
give you a second chance-much less someone who
will give you a second chance every day. But in
Jesus, Peter found both. (Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Peter ask, "Shall I forgive my brother up to seven times?"
Jesus answered, "I tell you not seven times, but seventy
times seven times." Matthew 18:21-22

How good are you at passing out second chance? Jesus was
a Master at it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Saturday, December 3, 2011

December 3

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God's presence with us is one of His greatest presents to us.
(Our Daily Bread)

SCRIPTURE:
I will never leave you or forsake you. Hebrews 13:5

What a comforting statement!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Friday, December 2, 2011

December 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The peace of God is a promise for you today. Claim
it, speak it and live it. Throw off the distractions of
illness, financial loss, negative comments and self-
condemnation. And let the peace of Christ dwell in
you richly. All things of earth will pass away, but your
security for eternity is fixed. So fix your eyes on Jesus.
Cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you.
(Daily Disciples Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
And the peace of God which transcends all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7

What does Paul mean? "Transcends all understanding." I think
he means human reasoning and understanding. If we try to
reason out salvation and the hope of heaven from a human stand
point... we begin to doubt!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

December 1

Greetings: God bless you this dy!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
We nurture love by sharing it with others. We want
love to grow... we show love. We demonstrate love,
by loving others. And here's the good part (the more we
demonstrate it, the more we shall pull it out of others.)
Let's get more love growing in our homes, our neighborhoods,
our communities. Start at home with hugging and smiling and
gentle words.( Ellie Brown Haley-Christian Voices.)

SCRIPTURE:
Dear children let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions
and in truth. 1 John 3:18

And another place to start with love, our churches... our collective body
that meets together must love each other to be effective in the neighborhood
and in our communities.

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings- Freda
