September 30

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have you ever caught yourself expelling a deep sigh of
resignation after turning off the evening news. Or
perhaps it's like a groan of exasperation. This beloved
nation faces an uncertain future, and it's easy sometimes
to feel helpless and afraid. Helplessness, however, is a
good place to begin the day. Meet God early, often and
earnestly turn your sighs into words, confidently lay
your request before him. (Barb Kugle)

SCRIPTURE:
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.
Psalm 5:1

This is the very time we need to be faithful in prayer
and confident, that although the future is uncertain,
we serve a God who is certain!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
The deepest word is... Soul.
The longest word... Eternity.
The swiftest word is... Time.
The nearest word is... Now.
The meanest word is. Sin.
The broadest word is... Truth.
The strongest word is... Right.
The truest word is... Love.
The sweetest word is... Home.
The dearest word is... Mother.
The greatest word is... God.
(Author Unknown)

SCRIPTURE:
Be ye doers of the word, and not hears only.
James 1:22 (KJV)

Words without action are meaningless. Action without
love is empty!

September 28

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God is constantly on the lookout, ready to rescue you,
whenever you fall or falter. Scripture says that he bends
down from heaven to deal with your affairs, lifting you up
when you're on the ash heap of life. He not only lifts you
from the dirt, he sets you in places of healing, where your
heart is strengthened and your spirit is renewed.
(Moments of Peace in the presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
He takes the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from
the ash heap. Psalm 113:7

Are you on the ash heap of life today? Take heart...God is
waiting to rescue you!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 27

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

SCRIPTURE:
Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?
(Corrie Ten Boom)

SCRIPTURE:
Jesus speaking, said, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied
about you: These people honor me with their lips, but their
hearts are far from me."
Matthew 15:8

Make your prayers to God as fresh as your conversation with
your loved ones!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Fear is a predator. It crouches in the shadows and strikes its
prey, you, waiting for in sign on your part of weakness and
vulnerability. When fear strikes, it can ravage your life,
destroy your talent and wipe out your resources. God has
given you a mighty sword with which to fight the predator,
fear-your faith. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God.)

SCRIPTURE:
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be
afraid? Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)

Fear cripples our ability to grow!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 25

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Perfectionism and its control over our lives stands
seriously in the way of our growth and well-being,
emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. Life's
lessons comes through failures probably more than
successes. Through our failures we learn humility.
We learn to look to others for help and guidance.
We learn to let others fail too(Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
Though he stumble he will not fall, for the Lord
upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:24

Failure is not fatal...but failing to try is!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 24

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
My love is like a cabbage
That's easily cut in two.
The leaves I give to others,
But the heart I give to you.
(Tyrone)

SCRIPTURE:
Love the Lord you God with all your heart
and all your soul and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:4

God wants the heart of each of us. Scattered leaves
will not do!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Faith is not born at the negotiating table, where you barter
gifts in exchange for his goodness. Faith is not a reward
given to the most learned. It's not a prize given to the most
disciplined. It's not a title bequeathed on the most religious.
Faith is a desperate dive out of a sinking boat of human effort
and pray that God will be there to pull you out of the water!
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and
this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8

Faith is knowing that you can't save yourself, but believing
with all your heart, that God can!

September 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Sadly Judy Garland, likely, never found that carefree place,
'over the rainbow.' Her last few years revealed a harsh worn
face. But no matter what you've weathered in life-or perhaps
enduring right now-you can find peace. Wisdom, the kind
God can provide, will help you shine in your darkness,
transforming your appearance to reflect His love. If cares
have stolen your joy, seek Him, respond to Him and you
will see a dramatic difference in the mirror (Adam Colwell)

SCRIPTURE:
Wisdom brightens a man's face and changes its hard appearance
Ecclesiastes 8:1

Off times our face reflects our experiences. If we want the world
to know there is joy in living a Christian life, we must reflect that
joy in the expressions we wear!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Just as the footpath through the woods winds its way
past twisting roots and low-hung branches, the narrow
way that leads to God may be full of obstacles. Someday
you'll be able to look back and rejoice over the path not
taken. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Make me go in the path of thy commandments; for therein
do I delight. Psalm 119:35 (KJV)

The path God has chosen for you, may at times, seem narrow,
long and weary. But remember: At the end of the path God's
waiting for you!

KNow I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 18

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Change thoughts and you change the person. If today's thoughts
are tomorrow's actions, what happens when we fill our minds
with thoughts of God's love? Will standing beneath a downpour
of God's grace change the way we feel about others? Rather
than store up sour, store up sweet.
( Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable...Is there anything worthy
of praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

The power of positive thinking will improve health as well!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 17

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Even if everyone of your deeds was a step to heaven, it
would never reach high enough. Only God's mercy can
take you there. (Touched by an Angel)

SCRIPTURE:
God our savior saved us, not because of righteous things
we had done, but because of his mercy. Titus 3:4-5

Thank God for his mercy!

September 16

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
"This is the day," includes every day. Divorce days, final
exam days, tax days. Sending your first-born off to college
days. God made this day, ordained this hard hour, designed
the details of this wrenching moment. He isn't on holiday.
He still sits in the cockpit, and occupies the universe's
throne. Each day emerges from God's drawing room,
including this one. (Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be
glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Remember: Each day is a gift, including this one!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 15

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Waiting is never your choice, but you can choose how
you wait in the meantime. Allow your hope in God to
bring health to your soul and renewed strength to
your prayers. Be confident that he will work in his
way and his time. (Adam Colwell)

SCRIPTURE:
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but longing fulfilled
is the tree of life Proverbs 13:12

As I've said before, God's waiting room is not the most
comfortable place to be, but perhaps it is where we grow
the most spiritually!

September 14

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Our struggles with other people always take their toll
on us. They often push us to behavior we're not proud
of. No battle is worth the damage nearly every battle
can cause .(Hazelden Meditations)

SCRIPTURE:
When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes
even his enemies live at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

When we meet an adversary with peaceful intent, God
will help us accomplish the peace we seek!

September 13

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!
Happy Grandparents Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God designed beauty to be dynamic, to renew itself in change. The
seasons are perhaps nature's best example of this. You watch as
summer's bright greens give way to fall's warmer colors, then fade
into winter's gray and white, Just when you long for the sight of green
again spring comes, bringing more buds of change and new life. God
must have known we would need visuals to remind us of his purpose
in change. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
It was you (God) who set the boundaries of earth. You made both
summer and winter. Psalm 74:17

The seasons remind us so much of life: Spring-new birth and young
life. Summer-the fullness of love and young families. Fall-empty nest
and letting go. Winter-old age and declining health. This is God's way
of preparing us for the coming of a NEW SPRING in our lives!

September 12

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have you ever worked a jigsaw puzzle and found yourself searching
desperately for that last piece to complete the puzzle? You repeatedly
scan the table, but you just can't find it, even though you know it must
be right there in front of you. When you finally discover the missing
piece you want to sound a trumpet! You've completed a beautiful
picture by filling in that empty space. (Adam Cowell)

SCRIPTURE:
Suppose a shepherd has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Will
he not leave the ninety-nine and go after the lost sheep?
Luke 15:4

God is like that with you and me. Without us, his picture is not complete
and he will go to desperate measures to complete the picture!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 11

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Please fly your flag today and remember the families that lost
loved ones in 9-11

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
What if things only get worse? Christ tells us that they will.
He predicts spiritual bailouts, ecological turmoil and world
wide persecution, yet in the midst of this, he contends bravery
is still an option. In this dangerous day, with financial collapse
terrorist on the loose, we have every reason to retreat, but Jesus
told his disciples, "Don't freak out when bad stuff happens. See to
it that you finish your work, with special focus and extra resolve."
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you
are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to
come. Matthew 24:6

However things may look and whoever feels they're in charge...
Remember, it is God who is in charge!

September 10

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Conscientious service is not hard to buy, willing
service is somewhat rarer, but loving service is
beyond price  and no one can command it.
(Mary Burchell)

SCRIPTURE;
Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:10

God does not necessarily call the qualified. He can
qualify the willing into loving service!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 9

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Isn't it wonderful when you discover you're not facing
a big decision alone, but have the Lord's help. You had
a problem you didn't know how to fix, then you pray,
and suddenly you have a new idea or solution. How
exciting it is when you realize He stepped in.
(Connie Peters)

SCRIPTURE:
Pray that the Lord your God will tell us where we should
go and what we should do. Jeremiah 42:3

It really challenges our faith when God's answer is wait, or
worse, when his answer is no. We do not have the wisdom
to always be right in how we pray. When his answer is wait
or no, we grow in faith, if we put our trust in him!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
What do you do when people mistreat you or those you love? Does
the fire of anger boil within you? Or do you reach, somewhere, to
some source of cool water and pull out a bucket of mercy-to free
yourself? Don't get on a roller coaster of resentment and anger.
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
If you suffer for doing good, and you are patient, then God is
pleased. 1 peter 2:20 (NCV)

When I encounter injustice, my first inclination is to rise up and
swat it down...and I'm sorry to admit that happens more often than
a cool head!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Realize that life is a school and your are here to learn,
pass all your tests. Problems are simply part of the
curriculum that appear and fade away life algebra class.
But the lessons you learn will last a life time.
(From Dot Barr)

SCRIPTURE:
Let the wise listen and add to their learning.
Proverbs 1:5

We all learn more from listening than talking and more
from doing than saying!

September 6

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
At Washington, DC Metro Station, world famous violinist,
Joshua Bell, incognito, conducted an experiment for the
Washington Post. He played his violin for an hour. In that
time only 6 people stopped to listen. Some threw a dollar
his way and continued on. Several children stopped, only to
have a parent tug them away. One of the greatest musicians
in the world, played one of the most intricate pieces ever
written, on a violin worth 3.5 million. Two days after he had
played to a sold out house in a Boston theater, at an average
of 100 dollars a seat. One of the conclusions reached of the
experiment: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to
some of the finest music ever written, played by one of the best
musicians of the world, on one of the most beautiful instruments
ever made...How many other things are we missing?
(From Phyllis Leonard)

SCRIPTURE:
He was in the world and though the world was made through him,
the world did not recognize him. John 1:10

Are you missing the best things in life?

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Hope springs from a heart that trusts God. Without hope,
your life would quickly turn bleak. But with this virtue in
your heart, every dark cloud and uncertain sky holds clouds
with silver linings. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
O Lord, you alone are my hope, I've trusted you, O Lord, from
childhood. Psalm 71:5 (NLT)

What the world needs most is hope!

September 4

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have you ever felt like nothing more could possibly go
wrong in your life? Naomi, a woman who lost her husband
and both sons, was definitely feeling that way. Her story, in
the book of Ruth, started out as one of hopelessness. She
felt that the hand of the Lord was against her. Ruth her
daughter-in-law would not give up on her. Ruth vowed,
"Your people will be my people and your God my God."
Naomi discovered that the Lord had not left her at all. Do
you know any Naomi's that need to know God is still there
for them? (Adam Colwell)

SCRIPTURE:
May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put
my trust in your word. Psalm 119:74

If everything is going wrong for you today...hang in there, tomorrow's
another day and God will be there, waiting, to handle anything you're
willing to trust to his care!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Live life with the three E's...Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy,
and the three F's...Faith, Family and Friends.
(Author Unknown-From Dot Barr)

SCRIPTURE:
His compassions never fail. They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Remembering the above scripture, will help us live the above
thought!

September 2

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Even when you achieve the goals you've set, you sometimes
arrive at the finish line only to feel your victory is empty and
meaningless. Too late you realize that the furious run was in
the wrong direction. God measures success in terms of faith,
hope and love. It is never too late to begin following his lead.
Your consequent victory will bring lasting satisfaction and a
sense of true success.
(Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:
Lead me in the path of your commands, because that makes me
happy. Make me want to keep your rules instead of wishing for
riches. Keep me from looking at worthless things. Let me live
by your word. Psalm 119:35-37 (NCV)

True success is not measured in how we look, what kind of car
we drive or the house we live in!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

September 1

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
There was a story about a man bitten by a dog who had
rabies. The man begin to make a list and the doctor said,
"You don't have to make out your will, rabies can be cured"
He replied, "Oh, I'm not making out my will. I'm making
a list of the people I want to bite." Couldn't we all make a
list. Friends, who are not always friendly. Neighbors, who
are not always neighborly. Workers, who never work. We
sometimes keep a list, snarl and snap at people. God wants
your list. He wants you to leave the list at the cross.
(Max Lucado-From Elva Smithson)

SCRIPTURE:
Love does not keep record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:5

If you must be a list keeper, this month keep a list of everything
your loved ones do that's good!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda
