Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Absorb the principle that failure is never fatal,
so if you do not succeed the first time, keep on
trying! (Daisy Osborn)

SCRIPTURE:
Let us not grow weary of well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

The only way failure can be fatal... is to give up trying!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 29

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Listen to God. Is he putting anyone on your heart
with whom you might share Christ?
(Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Therefore go and make disciples of nations, baptizing
them into the name of the Father, and the Son, and the
Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

You don't have to go across the sea, or even across town.
You don't have to knock on doors or stand on a street
corner... you just need to be a friend to someone and let
Jesus shine through you!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

The flowers or weeds that spring up tomorrow
are the seeds you sow today. (Reminisce Magazine)

April 27

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
I was hungry and you formed a humanities club
to discuss my hunger... thank you.
I was in prison and you crept off quietly to pray for
my release... nice.
I was naked and in your mind, you debated the morality
of my appearance... what good did that do?
I was sick and you knelt and thanked God for your
health... but I need you!
I was homeless and you preached to me of the shelter of
the love of God... I wish you had taken me home with you!
I was lonely and you left me alone to pray for me... why didn't
you stay and pray with me?
You seem so holy, so close to God. Yet, I am still very hungry,
imprisoned, naked, sick , homeless and lonely!
(Christian Voices)

SCRIPTURE:
I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty and
you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not
invite me in. I need clothes and you did not clothe me. I was sick
and in prison and you did not visit me. Matthew 25:42-43

Both the thought and the Scripture are very convicting!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 26

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Forever is a long time:
Meditate on theses verses:
"Set you minds on things above, not on things
of his earth." (Colossians 3:2) "For what does it
profit a man if he gains the world and forfeits his
life." (Matthew 16:26) "This world is passing away
along with its desires, but whoever does the will of
God abides forever." (1 John 2:17)
Thank the Heavenly Father for the Salvation of your
soul and pray for those who haven't accepted Jesus as
their savior. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of
your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

Again: Forever is a long time!!!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 25

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Is something looming in your life that seems scary?
Terrifying? Unhappy? Does it feel like the earth is
rocking and rolling under you and terror is creeping
up your spine? Life is scary. Life is uncertain. And
there's nothing wrong with theses feelings of fear.
But we don't have to succumb to those feelings. We
can surrender to whatever God allows, if we believe
He only wants the best for us.
You are safe. Trusting in your loving Heavenly Father
will help you go along for the rocking, rolling ride.
(Kathy Collard Miller)

SCRIPTURE:
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone make
me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

Kathy experienced the earthquake in Japan and she is
using her experience to glorify God!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 24

Greetings: God bless you this Easter Sunday!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Salvation is God's rescue of one who cannot
save himself. Christ is the deliverer. He can
save us from the power of sin, death and Satan,
which drains us of joy and threatens us with
eternal loss. We need to repent of our sins and
turn to the one who conquered death to give us
victory over it. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
For my eyes have seen your salvation.
Luke 2:30

Have you met Jesus, my Lord?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 23

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God doesn't play tricks on people. And He definitely
doesn't believe it's too late. You see, with God there
is no time. Yesterday, today, tomorrow all belong to
Him, and He is willing to give it all to you.
(Touched by an Angel)

SCRIPTURE:
With the Lord a day is like a thousand years and a
thousand years are like a day. 2 Peter 3:8

So... are you willing to accept his gift?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 22

Greetings: God bless you this day!
God bless you this "Good Friday."
May you be thankful for the sacrifice
that Jesus made for your sins!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
In the garden we see Jesus in a fog of broken heart.
The next time the fog finds you, you might do well
to remember Jesus in the garden. If you think no
one understands, reread the fourteenth chapter of
Mark. The next time your self-pity convinces you
that on one cares, pay a visit to Gethsemane. And
the next time you wonder if God really perceives
pain that prevails on this dusty planet, listen to
his pleading among the twisted trees of the garden.
(Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
Jesus said, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be
taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."
Matthew 26;39

Have you ever thought what the world would be like today,
if God had answered Jesus' prayer as he wished at that moment?
Or what it cost the Father to refuse?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 21

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Don't be questioning what God has planned
for you. (Touched by an Angel)

SCRIPTURE:
For I know the plans I have for you declares
the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm
you, plans to give you hope for the future.
Jeremiah 29:11

God's plans for us are so much better than
any we could dream of!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 20

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Be perfect, be holy, be blameless, sin not.
These commands are enough to make a
perfectionist throw up her hands in defeat.
If you relate, then while your arms are
extended, praise God that you are not alone,
otherwise you would not need Jesus. Without
Christ, worldly morals are your god. Even though
you have an aching desire to do good, by sharing
with the needy, your deeds have no spiritual value
without Christ. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Make every effort to be found spotless, blameless
and at peace with him. 2 Peter 3:14

The only way we may be found blameless, is through
the blood of Jesus Christ!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 19

Greetings: God bless you this day!
I do hope you're following along with my
poetry blog and the last week of the life of Jesus.
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
On a recent vacation I took a stroll on the beach.
I immediately noticed the different consistency of
the sand from yesterday's walk. Then it had been
mushy and soft-difficult to walk on. Now it was very
firm and compact-which made it easier to walk. I
walked back to the condo on asphalt, this was the easiest
surface to walk upon.
I thought of Matthew 7: 24-27, where Jesus speaks of a
house built on the rock or the sand. How wise Jesus was
to tell us to build on a firm foundation of the solid Word
of God. (Christian Voices)

SCRIPTURE:
Hear the words of mine and put them into practice, like
a wise man who built his house on a rock. Matthew 7:24

Be careful where and how you build!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Great hopes make great men.
(Thomas Fuller, M.D.)

SCRIPTURE:
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Put your
hope in God. Psalm 42:5

Don't box God in with small hope... hope BIG!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 17

Greetings: God bless you this Lord's Day!

Today is known as Palm Sunday. The day Jesus
road into Jerusalem for the last time. This week
I will be posting a series of poems on the last
week of Jesus' life and some pictures of my trip
to Israel in 1984
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, the people
waved palm branches and shouted, "Hosanna! Blessed is he
Who comes in the name of the Lord, even king of Israel."
(John 12:13) They hoped Jesus would crush Roman rule,
but instead He destroyed Satan's rule, offering eternal life.
Regardless of your circumstances and problems, rejoice
today for salvation. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Salvation belongs to God who sits on the throne, and to
the Lamb. Revelation 7:10

The victory belongs to Christ. Satan has already been defeated!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

My poem today: "Happiness."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
God loves you, and his love is what gives you the
strength to go on and face your successes and
failures. (Touched by an Angel)

SCRIPTURE:
If God is for us who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

When things happen to us we sometimes say, "Oh,
what a coincidence." There is no coincidence, God
is always working in the background of the lives
of each of us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today's poem: "Wildflowers."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Laughter is an instant vacation.
(Author Unknown)

SCRIPTURE:
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our
tongues with songs of joy. Psalm 126:2

With the high price of travel... perhaps a good
laugh at home is a better choice, but no matter
where we are God is always with us!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today's poem: "All Things Through Christ."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When bad news on the media merges with our
own disappointment, we become overwhelmed
and will do almost anything to medicate the pain.
We work more, shop more, even some drink more,
yet, we long for relief, for someone to understand
and help.
God is that someone. He cares so much, He paid an
extravagant price... His Son, Jesus Christ. Through
Christ we can discover future hope and a healthy
way to cope. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Christ died for our sins, according to the Scripture,
he was buried, he was raised on the third day,
according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3

And He is alive today and walking with each of us!

Greetings: God bless you this day!
Today's Poem: "Come Follow Me."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Courage does not always soar, sometimes it is
a quiet voice at the end of the day, that saying,
"I'll try again tomorrow." (Mary Rodmacher)

SCRIPTURE:
Jesus said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
Matthew 14:27

Courage does not need to shout, sometimes the greatest
courage is only a whisper!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Greetings: God bless you this day!

Today's poem "Dandelions."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Have you ever had a conversation you wished
had gone in a different direction? The discussion
got heated to a point where anger crept in?
Understand that your conversation reflects your
life transformed by God's grace. Pray your speech
will never lose its saltness. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned
with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Colossians 4:6

Like fluffy, ripened dandelion heads, blown away, words,
once let loose, can never be retrieved!

Today's poem, "God's Promises."
http://fredasgardenofpoetryblogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Do you believe God is near? He wants you to. He
wants you to know he is near in the midst of your
world. Wherever you are, in your car, on the phone,
in your office, your bedroom or your den, He is near.
(Max Lucado)

SCRIPTURE:
For I am God and not man-the Holy One among you.
Hosea 11:9

God has promised that he would be near, always, and
he keeps his promises!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

Today's poem: "Strength For Today."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Are you facing attacks on your faith from other
people or even the devil? If may be difficult to
understand, but be fortified, by God's promise,
that the days of rejoicing will follow.
(Vantage Point Devotional)

Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing
comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5

This too shall pass... nothing remains the same,
sorrow moves on and the soul grows stronger.

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

My poem today-"The Master Weaver."
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
What a strange pattern the shuttle of life can
weave. (Frances Marion)

SCRIPTURE:
My days are swifter than a weavers shuttle and
they come to an end without hope. Job 7:6

Are you feeling like Job? Remember: In Christ
our hope is renewed!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

April 8

Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Paul instructs us to take off weak character traits,
such as anger and put on good ones, like kindness,
as if they were socks in a drawer. But how do you
actually take off bad habits and put on good ones?
Focus on Christ and His promises. Commit your
day to the Father, in prayer. Trust God to change
you from the inside out. (Vantage Point Devotional)

SCRIPTURE:
Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge
after the image of our Creator. Colossians 3:10

Does your inside clothes need changing?

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

We have to realize that we cannot earn anything
from God. We must receive it as a gift or do
without it. (Oswald Chambers)

SCRIPTURE:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-
and this not from yourselves, it is a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8

Even though a gift is free, you have to accept it!

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
He that respects not is not respected.
(George Herbert)

SCRIPTURE:
"A son honors his father, and a servant his master.
If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am
a master, where is the respect due me?" says the Lord
Almighty. Malachi 1:6

If we have no respect for God, how can we expect to be
respected?

please ready my poem on my poetry blog.
http://fredasgardenofpoetry.blogspot.com

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
A Time to Think:
Worry is a thin stream of fear that trickles through
the mind, which, if encouraged, will cut a channel so
wide, that all other thoughts will be drained out.
(From Lynne Lawson)

SCRIPTURE:
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Matthew 6:27

It has been said: "Worry is like a rocking chair... it is something
to do, but it gets you nowhere."

Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda

break hearts. (From Mary Scroggins)
