Greetings: God bless you this day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

When you are tempted to question your worth-or see yourself

as ugly, you must remember that you are a treasured piece of

God's handiwork. You are an expression of the same creative

force that placed the stars in the sky and raised dry land in the

midst of the sea. It is in the hand of the Artist that you have

reason to hope. (Moments of Peace in the Presence of God)

SCRIPTURE:

My frame was hidden from you when I was made in the secret 

place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body. Psalm 139:15-16

God sees the unformed talent that he has place in each of us.

We must rely on him to help us develop that talent!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

God is as creative as he is relentless. The same hand that

set the children of Israel free, also sent them captive to

Babylon. Both kind an stern, tender and tough. Faithfully

firm. Patiently urgent. Eagerly tolerant. Softly shouting.

SCRIPTURE:

When you were in trouble, you called and I saved you. I

answered you with thunder. Psalm 81:7

God sometimes has to thunder and rain on us to get our

attention!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

It is so easy to wish our lives away, never finding satisfaction

with our families, our jobs, our friends. The more fault we look 

for, the more we're guaranteed to find. Negative attitudes attract

negative experiences, while positive attitudes lighten whatever

burden we may be learning from. (Hazelden Meditations)  

SCRIPTURE:

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

Psalm 105:4

Today, accentuate the positive: Look for small blessings...a bird's

song-a catchy tune-a hug-a phone call-an uplifting email. Small

blessings are endless, if you look for them!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

A Grandfather's Perspective:

A week ago today I met my grandson for the first time.

He didn't even acknowledge my existence. I loved him

anyway. I asked him to open his eyes and he ignored me.

I loved him anyway. I asked him what he was thinking and

he didn't even look at me or speak to me. I loved him anyway.

The world he just came from was not very instructive or

demanding on relational skills. 

I love him because he is precious to me and not because he meets 

my needs. He will always be precious, but a higher level of being

human means that he will become more responsive and we will 

have a relationship. Should he stay unresponsive, I will still hold

him precious, but I will be disappointed that he cannot attain 

that fuller humanity that relates to my humanity.

God loves us, no question. But when we ignore him, we miss out on the

relationship and the whole new revelation that is the life of the Spirit.

It is the beginning of our experience of the nature of God and unlike

physical birth, we have to volunteer for it. God gives us the right to 

say no to him, but saying no is more tragic than a newborn who

cannot grow or a child who will not mature.

I love Norm's comparison in his love for his new grandson and God's

love for us!

against the devil's schemes. Ephesians 6:11

Paul says... it's an ongoing battle. But take heart, God has won

 the war and if we're on his team, the victory is ours as well!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Life is a gift we are granted moment by moment, let us be in

awe and wonder of it. We can marvel at creation and realize

how special we are to be participants.
