SCRIPTURE:
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never
walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

I've been reading Jan Karon's, Mitford series to Jim and Timothy and
his wife, Cynthia are lost in a cave and it is total darkness., Timothy,
being a priest, has had to come to terms with his fear of that darkness.
We all have to come to terms with the dark places, we face from time to
time... the above promise is most comforting!

When Joshua faced Jericho, a fortified city on lockdown, he felt
he was facing the impossible. He obeyed the Lord's  instructions

Time passes and life goes on, but there will come a day when
the world as we know it will cease and pass away. God did promise
that one thing would continue. He told us His Word would never

Sometimes we let failure define us. But when God forgives
He removes the sin and restores the soul.

As followers of Jesus, we don't have to handle our burdens
alone. We have Jesus Himself who is willing and able to
help us. And he has given us brothers and sisters in Christ
to share the load. When we give Him the things that weigh
us down, He gives us wisdom and support in return.

SCRIPTURE:
The men shall bear the burden of the people with you that you

The above Scripture is God speaking to Moses, when he was
overwhelmed with the burden of leading God's people in the
wilderness. So Moses went to God and He gave him the help
he needed. God will also give us the help we need as well!

Jesus anchors our souls, so that we will not drift away from

If he is powerful enough to calm the waves and wind, He is powerful enough
to calm the storms in our lives as well!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Today God is still calling ordinary people to do His work and
assuring us that He will be with us as we do it. Because we
are ordinary people being used by God, it's obvious that the
power comes from God and not us. (Our Daily Bread)

We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the
power may be of God and not us.  2 Corinthians 4:7

I've often wondered why God would leave such an important thing
as the gospel in the hands of the ordinary, but I think the above Scripture
answers that question!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Several mother's of small children were sharing encouraging
answers to prayers. One young mother said she felt selfish
about troubling God with her small personal needs.
Our compassionate God does not neglect others to respond
to our concerns. He has limitless time and love for each of
His children. No need is too trivial for Him.

You know as a parent, you are concerned with everything about

I've heard that in the "White House," there is a red phone, a direct
line to the President. If one was given the permission to use this
number, it would impress, yet we have direct access to the very
throne of God! How awesome is that?

Prayer is our way of connecting with God in all of life's
circumstances. God is always listening. We can talk to Him
anytime throughout the day. In prayer God listens to more
than your words, He listens to your heart!

With delight, I hear my daughter play the piano. Like many,
She started with the scales and routine practice. But recently
she said, "Mom, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't play the
