THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When Jesus ascended to heaven, He turned His mission over
to flawed and bumbling men and women. He assumed the role
of head of the church, leaving the task of arms, legs, feet, eyes,
and voice to the erratic disciples and to you and me.
(Philip Yancey-Our Daily Bread)
SCRIPTURE:
God comforts us, so that we can comfort those in trouble.
2 Corinthians 1:4
In the 14th chapter of John, Jesus tells His disciples that He would
not leave then comfortless; the holy Spirit would come and
guide them, that promise is for you and me as well. The next time
you feel you should make a call, write a note, say a prayer, teach
a class, or write a poem. do it...it may be the Holy Spirit guiding
you!
Know I prayed for you today. Blessings-Freda
Hi Freda! Your quote from Philip Yancey made me actually laugh out loud! It's so true. God has so much more faith in us than we have in him.
ReplyDeleteAnd may God help me to comfort others, especially those who have recently lost loved ones.
Thursday blessings!
