Day 3 of our journey with Jesus to the cross;

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus looked upon the face
Of each treasured friend
And told them quietly...
That his life soon would end.

SCRIPTURE:
He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us
peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5

This prophecy from Isaiah was made hundreds of years before the birth
of Jesus... this is enough proof for me to believe!

Day 2 of Jesus' journey to the cross:

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Jesus chanced the anger,
Of the people that day,
By showing His anger
As He chased the  money changers away.

He did not mind...
Stepping on the toes,
Of the religious leaders,
With their warnings and their woes.

SCRIPTURE:
Is it not written:
My house will be called a house of prayer for all
nations.? But you have made it a den of robbers!
Mark 11:17

Jesus did not mind being politically incorrect!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
HOSANNA:
"Hosanna! " They cried,
"Here comes the king,
Let us gather an Army,
Then freedom will ring!
(First verse in today's poem)

SCRIPTURE:
Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. Matthew 21:9

And Luke writes that they called out.."Blessed is the king who comes
in the name of the Lord!"
They wanted another David to free them from Roman rule and when they
realized He would not do that, they crucified Him, not realizing He came
to free them from Satan's rule!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
PITY-PARTY
If a pity-party
Comes your way.
Do not let it settle
Do not let it stay!

SCRIPTURE:
(Elijah speaking) I have had enough , Lord, take my life I'm no better
 than my ancestors. 1 kings 19:4

Looks like Elijah is have a major pity-party! And strangely enough he
had just  had a triumph over the prophets of Baal! Satan often works that
way, when we've had a high, he kicks us into a low!

Like any good parent, God wants us to ask, but like any good
parent, He would like our thanks, and it must delight Him if we
come Him in Praise and ask Him "What can I do for You?"
He isn't Santa Claus... He is our heavenly Father.

We live in such a busy world that some think if they take time out just to
to rest and commune with God, that is time wasted, that's sad.
We need time out from the busyness of this world.

Have you ever felt like David? One of my secret sins or weaknesses,
is worry. And we can be sure that the devil knows which buttons to push!
I have no trouble taking my cares to God... leaving them there is something
else!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
For the women finding an empty tomb was the beginning of an
amazing discovery which every disciple must make... the discovery
that there is more to Jesus than we can fit into our previous experience.
They left the tomb realizing that the limitations of a sinful world could

He makes the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on

If Christians were exempt from the storms of life, Our church buildings
would be full and most would be there just to get out of the rain!

We had a red letter day yesterday, and I think we wore the birthday
boys completely out!

Jesus took our place to give us His peace.

Think how peaceful life would be, it we truly lived the above Scripture!

We have a lot to be joyful about today. Our family from Nashville
and from Boston have arrived safely and today we celebrate
Jim's 91st and grand grandson Camden's 1st birthday and today
is our great granddaughter, Morgan's first birthday. They had a
party for her yesterday and they can't be here today.

Today is Jim's 91st birthday. Tomorrow is our great grandson, 

Canden's 1st birthday. We've never seen him, but Saturday they

are coming out here and Sunday, great grandpa and Camden will 

celebrate their birthday's together

Jim and I have been married 61 years, and that calls for commitment. 

Life has not gotten easier, but our love has has gotten sweeter. A

we get to home!

Thanks for the prayers for John's surgery. The surgery went well.
We talked to him a few minute last night and he will probably get
to go home tomorrow!

Thanks for your prayers for Katie, she made it safely back to school
about 8:30 last night. Keep John in your prayers today. He should be
going into surgery about now. It is hard for me not to be there, But he
did not want me to fight the traffic down there, it's about 20 miles, and
I did not want to add to his stress, by insisting.

Please keep our son , John and granddaughter, Katie in your prayers.
John has surgery in the morning and Katie came home from college in
Oregon to see her daddy over the weekend and has to return today. It
is an 11 hour drive and she is by herself.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Charles Plumb  was a jet pilot in Vietnam, and his plane was destroyed
by an air missile and he ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He spent
six years in a prison camp, after his ordeal, he lectures about his experiences.
One day a fellow came up to him and said, "You don't know me, but I packed
your parachute the day you were shot down."
Plumb said, "Thank you, the parachute worked or I wouldn't be here today!"
If it wasn't for somebody else, or perhaps many somebody elses- most of us
would not be here today.
And if it was not for somebody else telling us about Jesus, we would not know Him.
